Bermuda Championship Betting Tips

It is the penultimate event of the PGA Tour year this week with 120 hopefuls looking to end 2024 on a high note with victory at the Bermuda Championship before next week’s RSM Classic.

Last year’s winner Camilo Villegas is back at the Port Royal Golf Club to defend his title, while 2022 winner Seamus Power is expected to make another strong claim for glory after a string of recent solid results.

Power Equipped To See Off The Field

With wide-open fairways and large greens, it would seem there were few problems for players to negotiate when they tee off at the Bermuda Championship, but wind is set to be a real issue at Port Royal in Southampton, so the ability to cope with the conditions is key.

That should not be a big issue for Ireland’s Seamus Power, who has had a consistent second half of 2024 after injury prevented him from defending this title last year.

Before a thigh injury, the man from Waterford had stormed up the world rankings and now looks to be back at his best, finishing in the top 20 in eight of his last 17 tournaments, with four of those performances coming in PGA Tour signature events which attract the world’s top names.

While some of those are putting their feet up in preparation for a busy spring, Power has finished in the top 15 in four of his last five tournaments and the 2022 champion looks well placed to make a strong challenge again.

Nacho Can Be Spurred On By Villegas Victory

Another player who is finishing the year in great form is Colombian Nacho Echavarria, who can emulate his compatriot Villegas by winning at Port Royal.

It is only a few weeks since he held off Max Greyserman and Justin Thomas to win the Zozo Championship in Japan and he proved that was no fluke when sixth last week at the World Wide Technology Championship after carding a second-round 63.

An 11th spot at the Black Desert Championship was another strong performance last month, so he looks at the top of his game and is one player in the field who should relish the windy conditions.

Rodgers Geared To Shine Again In Southampton

Patrick Rodgers also finished 11th at the Black Desert and while he is still searching for his first victory on the PGA Tour, a couple of his best performances have come at Port Royal.

Rodgers has finished fifth at the RBC Heritage and the Barracuda Championship this year and has been pretty solid lately, missing just one of his last 12 cuts.

And he has relished this course on his last two appearances, finishing third when Power won two years ago and he was then again two shots in arrears when Lucas Herbert took the prize the year before, so he could make a bold bid.
