Tour Championship Betting Tips

The leading 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings head to the new-look East Lake Golf Club this week for the season-ending Tour Championship, with a cool $25million presented to the FedEx Cup winner.

A staggered leaderboard will be in effect for the sixth edition in a row, with world number one Scottie Scheffler beginning on -10, two shots clear of Xander Schauffele in second and a further stroke ahead of Hideki Matsuyama.

The final five players in the FedEx Cup standings - Chris Kirk, Tom Hoge, Aaron Rai, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Justin Thomas - are 10 shots off the pace on level-par.

Andrew Green's full restoration of East Lake means there will be a sense of the unknown for the 30 players teeing it up in Atlanta, with every tee, green, fairway and bunker having been rebuilt.

Red-hot Burns To Contend

It is over a year since Sam Burns last tasted success but that could all change this week as he arrives off the back of some fantastic form that has catapulted him up the FedEx Cup standings.

The 28-year-old American was tied-fifth at the St. Jude Championship - the opening play-off event - before improving on that with a runners-up finish at last week's BMW Championship.

Burns' game is in fine shape heading into the Tour Championship, where he carded the joint fourth-best 72-hole score last year as he ended up tied-ninth when including the starting strokes.

Starting at -4, the US star has six shots to make up on Scheffler, but anything can happen on this new-look course and there is enough confidence to suggest Burns can bridge the gap.

Finau A Dark Horse

Although Tony Finau has failed to pick up a win this year, he has been a consistent performer with a runners-up finish at the Houston Open and a tie for third at the US Open the highlights.

The powerful American has posted finishes of T16 and T13 in the two play-off events and he will be making his eighth straight East Lake appearance. Only Xander Schauffele can match that active streak.

Superb from tee-to-green, a good week with the putter should put Finau in the mix and while he also has a big deficit to make up starting on -3, he has all the tools to go low here.

Scott Rolling Back The Years

Australian Adam Scott remains one of the best ball-strikers in the business at the age of 44 and this has been evident in his last four starts, which have produced finishes of second (Scottish Open), T10 (The Open), T18 (St. Jude) and T2 (BMW Championship).

Ranked 21st in the world, his highest position since 2021, the 14-time PGA Tour winner is back to his best and he has strong East Lake form with two top-10s and one top-five finish when it comes to 72-hole scoring.
