Former England fast bowler Steve Harmison joined Manish Bhasin on the latest edition of In The Zone, a series devised by Gambling Zone to celebrate the achievements of some of the most successful athletes in sport.
The 63-Test veteran, who was at one time the best bowler in the world, spoke candidly about his triumphs against mental health issues and why Ricky Ponting was a far more difficult opponent than Brian Lara.
Harmison is also best placed to discuss the intricacies of Kevin Peitersen’s acrimonious exit from the England team, whilst also discussing his maverick genius, and comparing him to current England superstar Joe Root.
The boyhood Newcastle United fan also spoke about how, despite all he achieved in a glittering cricket career, he would have swapped everything for the chance to earn a place playing for the Magpies, and how he was openly jealous of Toon Icon Alan Shearer.
As well as that, Harmison discussed England’s approach under ‘Bazball’ and explained why cricket will never find another Jimmy Anderson.
