Neverlusen Can Keep Unbeaten Dream Alive
Bayer Leverkusen are still yet to taste defeat in any competition this season and their 2-1 victory over Augbsurg at the weekend ensured that they completed their domestic league campaign unbeaten.
Just two games remain for Die Werkself as they chase a historic and unprecedented unbeaten continental treble and, with the Bundesliga firm favourites to beat second-tier Kaiserslautern in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday, Leverkusen’s primary test looks to be against Atalanta on Wednesday.
La Dea have been in strong form as of late, winning seven of their last nine in all competitions. However, their sole defeat came in the Coppa Italia final against Juventus last Wednesday and this recent loss could cast niggling doubts in the back of the minds of the Atalanta squad.
With Leverkusen refusing to be beaten, all signs point towards a memorable night for the German outfit and a victory for Xabi Alonso’s side looks the best betting choice.
Goals At Both Ends Expected
Both Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen have shown their goal-scoring talents both domestically and on the continental stage and an entertaining affair could be in store on Wednesday night.
La Dea have only failed to score in one of their last nine matches in all competitions, while defensively they have conceded in four of their last six - with a number of injuries affecting the Atalanta back line.
Leverkusen’s goal-scoring record is even more impressive, with their last blank in front of goal coming in a 0-0 draw against Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Bundesliga back in January.
The Germans have only kept clean sheets in two of their last eight matches in all competitions, however, so a winner in the both teams to score market shows promise.
Scamacca Can Strike For Atalanta
While Leverkusen have been dominant across the board this season, goals have been shared out across the squad on a regular basis and so it is difficult to pick a goalscorer for the German side.
Joy in this market could therefore be found with La Dea, who possess the Europa League’s third top scorer this season in Gianluca Scamacca.
The Italian has six goals to his name in this year’s competition and has netted in each of the knockout rounds and so looks a strong bet to continue his scoring form.
