There is plenty at stake in the Champions League on Tuesday as the second legs of two last-16 ties take place, with Arsenal hosting Porto and Napoli travelling to Barcelona.
Arsenal may be sitting top of the Premier League following the weekend's results but they have some work to do if they want to advance in Europe, as they trail Porto 1-0 from the first leg.
The clash between Barcelona and Napoli at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys is also finely poised after the duo played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona nearly three weeks ago.
- Arsenal vs Porto - Over 3.5 goals
- Barcelona vs Napoli - Napoli to qualify
Arsenal vs Porto
Given the impressive scoring form of both sides, this contest at the Emirates should have plenty of goals and over 3.5 strikes in the second leg is the selection here.
Arsenal have been perfect in the Premier League in 2024, recording eight victories in a row in which they have scored a mighty 29 times and conceded four.
Porto have also been showing their ruthless side in front of goal since the turn of the year, netting 31 times across their 13 matches in all competitions, with eight of those coming in their last two outings.
Over 3.5 goals has landed in three of the Gunners' last four home fixtures, while the same bet has been successful in four of Porto's last six assignments.
It’s also worth noting that these two did meet at this stage of the Champions League back in 2009/10. After Arsenal lost the opening leg 2-1 in Portugal, they romped to a 5-0 victory in the reverse fixture.
While another resounding victory is unlikely, there looks to be a high chance that plenty of goals will be witnessed at the Emirates again.
Barcelona vs Napoli
It hasn't been the season Barcelona had been hoping for in the Spanish top flight, as they sit eight points adrift of La Liga leaders Real Madrid, but European glory is still a possibility.
The Catalans need to get past Napoli to secure their place in the quarter-finals and that is easier said than done, with the Naples outfit on a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions heading into this contest.
Barca are also in form, as they are without defeat in their last eight assignments, but they just edged past Mallorca 1-0 at the weekend and that came after a 0-0 draw against Athletic Bilbao.
It just isn't clicking right now for Barcelona and the better play here is to back Napoli to qualify, which provides cover if the Italian side need extra-time and potentially penalties to progress.
This will be Francesco Calzonas's sixth game in charge since being appointed Napoli manager and while his side have been held to three 1-1 draws, they did thrash Sassuolo 6-1 and beat Juventus 2-1.
It is a big week for Gli Azzurri, who travel to Inter on Sunday, and they can head into that contest full of confidence by successfully negotiating their way past Barcelona.
