Two finely-poised Champions League quarter-final ties conclude on Tuesday evening with Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid hoping to book their places in the last four.

Barca lead PSG 3-2 after a thrilling first leg in Paris last week and Diego Simeone's Atletico have a 2-1 advantage to protect on their trip to Borussia Dortmund.

  • Draw in Barcelona vs PSG
  • Raphinha to be first goalscorer vs PSG
  • Under 2.5 goals in Borussia Dortmund vs Atletico Madrid

Defence To See Barca Progress

The first leg of the Barcelona-PSG tie was an end-to-end contest in which Barca went 1-0 up, then 2-1 down, before roaring back to clinch a 3-2 win thanks to Andreas Christensen's 77th-minute header.

PSG had six shots on target to Barca's seven, also hitting the crossbar through youngster Bradley Barcola, so another tight game is expected on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick when PSG won 4-1 on their last Champions League trip to Barcelona but the hosts have been defending stoutly in recent weeks.

Their six consecutive clean sheets in La Liga include shutouts against top-five rivals Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao and they saw off Napoli 3-1 in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.

The first leg against Napoli ended 1-1 and the draw is worth backing against PSG. Barca will be confident of closing out the game if the 90-minute score is level going into the last 20 minutes and PSG have drawn four of their last six Ligue 1 matches.

THE DRAW

Raphinha Backed To Break Deadlock

Barcelona winger Raphinha had a memorable night in Paris, scoring his side's first two goals and racking up six shots at the PSG goal.

He is averaging 3.7 shots per game in the Champions League this season and looks a good bet to open the scoring again in the second leg.

The Brazil international has scored first in two of his last four La Liga starts and he had five shots in Barca's last home game against Las Palmas.

RAPHINHA TO SCORE FIRST

Expect Dogged Display From Atletico

Atletico Madrid's early success under Diego Simeone was based on resolute defending and canny game management and they could revert to type in the second leg against Borussia Dortmund.

Atletico are 2-1 up after last week's first leg in Madrid although they have struggled on the road this season, claiming only five of their 19 league wins away from home.

Simeone's men also lost 1-0 to Inter in the away leg of their last-16 tie and under 2.5 goals looks a solid bet in Dortmund, who had to work hard for their 2-1 weekend win at Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Karim Adeyemi was sent off in the 55th minute at Gladbach and BVB had two-thirds of possession in the first leg against Atletico yet lost the shots-on-target battle 9-4.

The visitors do not need to take a gung-ho approach given their narrow first-leg lead and 12 of Dortmund's last 14 Champions League matches have ended with under 2.5 goals.
