The Premier League returns with a full programme of matches this weekend as three of the top five face crucial clashes on Saturday.

Leaders Liverpool have an opportunity to put further distance between themselves and the chasers when they travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in one of six 3pm games.

Fifth-placed Tottenham return from a fortnight's break to face a Crystal Palace side that enjoyed a new manager bounce last Saturday while fourth-placed Aston Villa travel to Luton in the evening kick-off.

Brentford take on Chelsea in a west London derby, Everton host West Ham, Fulham entertain Brighton and Wolves travel to Newcastle to complete a busy day of top-flight action.

  • Over 3.5 goals in Brentford v Chelsea
  • Liverpool to beat Nottingham Forest
  • Tottenham to win and both teams to score v Palace
  • Aston Villa to win and over 3.5 goals v Luton

Brentford vs Chelsea

Both the Bees and the Blues have been susceptible to defensive lapses of late, so Saturday's derby in West London could be an entertaining affair.

A 90th-minute Conor Gallagher clincher helped Chelsea scrape past Championship side Leeds in the FA Cup on Wednesday, but Mauricio Pochettino's side still look like a collection of individuals who lack leadership on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Brentford have been nothing like the team that finished ninth last term, and even Ivan Toney's return has not yet enabled them to pull clear of the bottom five.

Thomas Frank's side has dealt with a lot of injuries at the back, and Ben Mee now appears to have joined the likes of Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey and Ethan Pinnock on the sidelines.

And, with Nathan Collins struggling for form, Frank may decide that attack is the best form of defence against the Blues.

There should be a few goals in this one as both teams attempt to put disappointing results behind them in the best way possible.

Only Villa Park regulars have witnessed more goals than the supporters at the Gtech Community Stadium this season, and with nine of Brentford's 13 home games going over the 3.5-goal mark, fans of both clubs should see at least four in this contest.

OVER 3.5 GOALS

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool

Liverpool can extend their winning run at the City Ground as the Reds seek to give Jurgen Klopp the perfect send-off at the end of the season.

Klopp's side should be boosted by the return of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai after injury, although the Kop kids have been doing a terrific job amid a crippling injury crisis.

The manager's ability to coax such mature performances from inexperienced teenagers has kept the chasing pack at bay up to now, and Liverpool's ability to move through the gears should be too much for Forest to handle.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have lost six of their last eight Premier League home games amid growing concerns that they could soon be dropping down a division.

However, Five defeats were only by single-goal margins, which suggests they will not fold completely if they fall behind.

Forest have scored in their last five home league games and could give the Reds some problems in the early stages, but stronger options on the bench should enable the visitors to return to Merseyside with all three points.

LIVERPOOL TO WIN

Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Spurs have had a fortnight to dissect the performance that saw them slip out of the top four with a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

Ange Postecoglu's side should be fresh for their return to action against mid-table Crystal Palace, who enjoyed the now-traditional new manager bounce against Burnley last Saturday.

Oliver Glasner's reign at the Palace promises to be highly entertaining based on that 3-0 win as the Eagles cut lose with three goals in an 11-minute second-half spell.

Glasner's 3-4-2-1 formation involves attacking wing-backs feeding crosses into the box and a mass of bodies that should never be outnumbered in midfield.

But Spurs come at you from all angles and will surely create enough problems in this game to ensure they get back to winning ways.

The Lilywhites have scored in each of their past 37 Premier League games and, with better finishing, would have extended their run of scoring two or more at home to six games last weekend.

But clean sheets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are almost a thing of the past now, the last of them coming against Chelsea in October.

SPURS TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Luton vs Aston Villa

Luton have lost four games in a row in all competitions and collected just one Premier League point from a possible 12 during the month of February.

The Hatters' survival prospects now look a little bleaker following the news that Everton's points penalty has been reduced after appeal.

And, having shipped six goals in their midweek FA Cup home defeat to Manchester City, Rob Edwards' side need to put their campaign back on an even keel.

However, it will be difficult for them to curtail the attacking prowess of a visiting Villa side that struck four times at home to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Unai Emery's side have scored 15 goals across their last seven Premier League away games, hitting the back of the net more than once in six of them and only failing to register in a 0-0 draw at Everton.

Only three clubs have conceded fewer home goals than the Toffees, so that failure to score is understandable.

But it would be a major shock if Villa were not able to create a hatful of chances against a side that have conceded 19 in their last five outings.
