Flutter Entertainment, one of the world’s leading online casino and sports betting operation companies, has announced a series of changes as it looks to restructure. One of the most notable is the introduction of PokerStars chief Kevin Harrington as the new Ireland and UK CEO.
Streamlined Structure
The company has provided details of a streamlined, two-divisional structure as it looks to chart the next stage in its growth. The new Flutter business will now consist of five regions: UK & Ireland (UKI), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Southern Europe & Africa (SEA), Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) and Brazil.
Current CEO of the UK and Ireland Ian Brown will be stepping aside following two years in the role. Harrington arrives following a successful spell at PokerStars. He was previously the chief commercial officer for Flutter and has experience with Betfair.
International CEO Dan Taylor will now lead the new international business, with Harrington set to report directly to Taylor when he takes the reigns in the UK and Ireland in January 2025.
Continuing The Good Work
Harrington expressed his excitement at taking over as CEO of UK and Ireland, highlighting his previous successes with the company. He said “I’m incredibly proud to be given the chance to take over and run a business I first joined more than a decade ago. I want to continue the work that has made Flutter the clear market leader across the UK and Ireland and maintain the high standards we have set – with responsible gambling at the core of all our work.”
Flutter CEO Peter Jackson paid tribute to the departing Ian Brown, saying that his time with the company has been enormously successful and that he has helped transform the business in almost every measurable metric. He then praised Harrington, saying he believes the business is in good hands as it moves onto the next part of its plans.
