Four of the Champions League last-16 second-leg matches take place on Tuesday night, with the standout tie being the clash between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

On the same night, Barcelona look to take another step towards a sixth European Cup, when they face Benfica at the Nou Camp with a one-goal advantage from the first leg.

The other two ties see Bayern Munich take a three-goal advantage to Bayer Leverkusen, while Inter Milan lead 2-0 over Feyenoord going into the second clash at the San Siro.

Slot Will Demand An Improved Display

It seems strange to suggest Liverpool need to raise their game, having won twice in the last week, but that needs to be the case if they are to reach the quarter-finals.

A 1-0 win in Paris was fortunate, following an outstanding display from goalkeeper Alisson and a late winner from Harvey Elliott.

They were then 1-0 down at home to bottom club Southampton on Saturday, before turning it around and eventually winning 3-1.

Arne Slot was critical of the work-rate during the first-half performance against the Saints and he will expect a reaction from his players on Tuesday night.

PSG head to Anfield off the back of a thumping 4-1 away win at Rennes on Saturday, with Ousmane Dembele scoring twice in stoppage time.

This will be an altogether tougher task though for Les Parisiens, who lost at both Arsenal and Bayern Munich during the League Phase in Europe.

Liverpool have lost just once in their last 23 competitive home games and have already beaten Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen in this year’s competition.

The two teams have met just on one previous occasion at Anfield, with Liverpool running out 3-2 winners in the 2018-19 season.

Barca Ready To Finish Off The Job

Despite being reduced to 10 men after just 22 minutes of the first-leg in Portugal, Barcelona hold a one-goal lead heading into the return clash against Benfica.

Raphinha, who has nine goals in this season’s competitions, scored a second-half winner with Benfica unable to find the net with any of their 26 efforts.

The two teams also met in the League Phase, when Barca ran out 5-4 winners at the Estadio da Luz with Raphinha on the scoresheet twice.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last seven home games, scoring 24 goals during that run and keeping three clean sheets.

Hansi Flick’s men have won three and drawn one of their four Champions League home games this term, while Benfica have a decent record on the road.

The side second in the Portuguese Primeira Liga have won four of their five away games in Europe this season, only failing to score in the 1-0 defeat at Bayern Munich.

BARCELONA TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Kane Can Help Bayern Seal Progress

Most expected German giants Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen to play out two tight encounters, but it’s Bayern in the box seat heading to BayerArena.

A 3-0 victory a week ago gave Bayern one foot in the quarter finals, while Leverkusen also lost Nordi Mukiele to a red card.

Since then, both teams have lost in the Bundesliga – Xabi Alonso’s men defeated 2-0 at home by Werder Bremen, while league leaders Bayern were beaten 3-2 at home by Bochum.

Vincent Kompany’s squad though are able to soak up some pressure in the second leg and potentially hit their rivals on the break.

Harry Kane has nine goals in this season’s Champions League, which includes the opener in the first 10 minutes of the first leg.

The England skipper is always a good option in the goalscoring markets, especially with the former Tottenham man on penalties.

Inter Out To Prove They Are Contenders

A 2-0 first-leg away win against Feyenoord in the Netherlands was a statement victory for Inter Milan, who are looking to lift the European Cup for the first time since 2010.

Feyenoord had already beaten AC Milan and Bayern Munich at home in this season’s Champions League, but fell well short against Inter.

Simone Inzaghi’s side took the lead in the first half in Rotterdam, through Marcus Thuram, with Lautaro Martinez doubling their lead five minutes after the break.

A 3-2 win on Saturday over Monza, having been two goals down, extended the Milan giants’ unbeaten run to five games.

Inter are now top of Serie A and in fine fettle going into Tuesday’s European tie, as they seek a seventh consecutive home victory in all competitions.

Most people felt Feyenoord would need to take a lead to Italy to have any chance of pulling off a surprise and they now face a massive task to turn things around.

Robin van Persie’s men have won just one of their last five fixtures and have failed to score in three of those matches.

When you consider Inter have conceded just 27 goals in 28 league games, another clean sheet looks to be on the cards for the hosts.

Feyenoord did win on their last trip to the San Siro to face Inter, but that came back in 2002 and both clubs are in a different place now.
