Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea extended their run of consecutive wins to five with their 4-2 win over Gent in the Conference League on Thursday and should be confident they will not make the mistake that Liverpool did last month and fall to a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Expect A Fast Home Start

Brighton did not know what hit them as Cole Palmer scored four first-half goals in last week’s 4-2 win and there looks a strong chance that the Blues will take a lead into half-time at Stamford Bright on Saturday.

Chelsea have been losing just once at the interval in 10  games this season - a 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City on the opening weekend - while Forest have led at half-time just once this season, also in their first league game.

Enzo Maresca’s team are buzzing and should go at their visitors straight from the off.

Jackson May Not Play Second Fiddle

While Palmer took all the plaudits last week, Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has put in some improved performances this season and should be a goal threat.

He is looking to get on the end of plenty of chances and scored twice in the recent 3-0 win at West Ham, so he is capable of increasing his tally here.

Meanwhile, Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who has committed a team-high 13 league fouls this season, is back from suspension after a red card against Brighton and could find himself back in the book.

Brighton vs Tottenham

Tottenham are another team who have won their last five matches and they should be confident for their trip to Brighton, who have failed to win any of their last four league outings.

Tottenham Finding Their Rhythm

Tottenham have improved markedly since they scraped a 2-1 EFL Cup win at Coventry and they should be able to build on their impressive 3-0 win at Manchester United last week.

Striker Dominic Solanke has broken his duck while Brennan Johnson has scored in their last five games, and Ange Postecoglou’s team should adopt an attacking style that can really trouble the Seagulls.

Brighton made a strong start under manager Fabian Hurzeler with a 3-0 win at Everton and a 2-1 win over Man United, but they have failed to win any of their last four matches in the league and could be vulnerable against the in-form Londoners.

Kulusevski Can Be A Goal Threat

Tottenham’s Swedish midfielder Dejan Kulusevski has been playing in a deeper role lately but he still opened his account in the win at Old Trafford which should give his confidence a massive boost.

He has had 11 shots on goal in his last four league outings and can find the net again, while his former Juventus team-mate Rodrigo Bentancur will have plenty of defensive work to do alongside him.

The Uruguayan has already picked up three league bookings this term and could find his way into the book once again.
