Bet On The Premier League

Leicester vs Chelsea

There may be a mixed reception for Maresca on his return to Leicester, who he helped to win promotion back to the top flight before leaving for Chelsea after a year in charge.

The Italian boss has made a quicker than expected impact at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues sat third in the Premier League heading into the weekend.

Chelsea go into Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff having lost just one of their last 10 league fixtures, with that defeat coming at leaders Liverpool.

Maresca has one of the most potent forward lines in Europe, but it’s fair to say that there are still a few issues defensively.

That has been heightened by another setback for Reece James, who will miss Saturday’s match having suffered another hamstring problem.

Those defensive problems are highlighted by the fact that both teams have scored in Chelsea’s last six Premier League matches.

Leicester find themselves three points above the relegation zone, with 10 points from 11 games, but leaking goals has also been an issue for the Foxes.

Steve Cooper’s men have leaked 14 goals in their last five matches in all competitions, including three in their defeat at Old Trafford last time out.

CHELSEA TO WIN AND BTTS

Bournemouth vs Brighton

Two of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League meet at the Vitality Stadium, as Bournemouth and Brighton go head-to-head at 3pm on Saturday.

The hosts have won their last three league games on home soil, including victories over both Arsenal and Manchester City.

That run has helped Andoni Iraola’s squad move up to 12th as they now prepare to face a Brighton team who will look to build on their win over the champions two weeks ago.

The Seagulls are now into the top six, with three wins in their last five games, and have now been boosted by the return of the influential Joao Pedro.

Both teams have conceded 15 goals in their opening 11 matches and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the two teams play out a scoring draw.

DRAW

Everton vs Brentford

Having lost their first four league games, Everton have since responded with 10 points in their next seven – a run that has lifted them up to 16th.

Sean Dyche’s men are unbeaten in their last three at Goodison Park, with a win and two draws, conceding just two goals during that run.

Brentford are five places and six points ahead of their opponents, but they head to Merseyside having lost their last five Premier League away games.

Thomas Frank continues to prove the doubters wrong but he is having to deal with a list of injury concerns in the build up to Saturday’s clash.

Yoane Wissa has got seven goals so far this term, but is doubtful with a knock suffered in the home win over Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Kristoffer Ajer, Ethan Pinnock and Aaron Hickey are also doubts.

Everton did the double against the Bees last season and go in search of a third consecutive home win over Brentford – winning the last two Goodison meetings 1-0.

EVERTON TO BEAT BRENTFORD

Fulham vs Wolves

After a victory at Crystal Palace before the international break, Fulham are up to seventh in the league after an impressive start to the season.

It’s seven points from their last three games for the Cottagers, who are now level on points with both Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Marco Silva has got his team playing the kind of football that could see them challenge for European qualification.

On Saturday, they face a Wolves team who are 12 places and 12 points behind them but are fresh from their first win of the season.

Their victory over Southampton has moved Wanderers off the bottom and their next task is to improve their away form.

Gary O’Neil’s squad have collected just two points on the road this campaign, with draws at Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

This looks a step too far though for the visitors, with Fulham on a roll. This game saw five goals last season – Fulham winning 3-2 -  and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a similar scoreline this time around.
