Liverpool will head to the capital on Sunday looking to continue their impressive away record, taking on an unpredictable Tottenham team.

The Merseysiders are unbeaten in 12 on the road in all competitions, with eight goals scored in their last three away matches in the Premier League.

Spurs made it through to the EFL Cup semi-finals in midweek but they sit 10th in the Premier League and need to find some consistency.

Slot’s Men Can Make Shaky Spurs Pay

These two teams have enjoyed polar opposite starts to the campaign, with Liverpool impressing both domestically and in Europe while Tottenham continue to frustrate their fans.

The visitors have drawn their last two matches, although last Saturday’s 2-2 stalemate with Fulham will almost feel like a win having played for long periods with 10 men.

In contrast, Spurs have won just two of their last six in the league, with no victories in their last three Premier League home matches.

Liverpool will have an eye on gaining revenge for last season’s 2-1 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, when they had two men sent off and a goal wrongly ruled out by VAR.

Ange Postecoglou has seen his squad hit by a string of injuries in recent weeks and they are set to be without a number of key players again on Sunday.

Mickey van de Ven, Richarlison, Guglielmo Vicario and Cristian Romero are set to be sidelined once again while Rodrigo Bentancur is still suspended.

Liverpool will be without Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate but they have all of their attacking options available and they could have a field day against a weakened Tottenham backline.

LIVERPOOL TO WIN

Goals On The Cards

Only Chelsea have scored more league goals than Tottenham this season, with Postecoglou’s men finding the net 36 times in their opening 16 games.

Another four goals in the midweek EFL Cup win showed their threat in the final third, but it was at the other end of the pitch where the concerns mounted.

Spurs have conceded 12 goals in their last five home games in all competitions, which is hardly ideal preparation for a clash with the league leaders.

Liverpool have 31 league goals to their name and have scored in all but one of their 24 matches this season.

There have been 25 goals scored in the last five meetings between the two sides, including a 4-2 Liverpool win at Anfield in their most recent encounter.

Jota Return Is Key For Reds

Arne Slot was without his main striker for around two months, but Diogo Jota is back to full fitness and looked impressive on his return.

The Portuguese international came on as a second-half substitute in the 2-2 draw with Fulham, scoring the equaliser and coming close to snatching a winner.

Slot decided not to involve him in the EFL Cup victory at Southampton but Jota should play a part in Sunday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former Wolves man was sent off in this fixture last season, but does have happier memories in previous matches against Spurs.

Jota scored the dramatic winner in a 4-3 success at Anfield in 2023, while he also found the net in a 2-2 draw at Tottenham in 2021.
