Since Evolution first announced Funky Time at ICE London 2023, it seems like everyone has been excited about it so we are excited to bring you our Funky Time live game review. According to the developer, Evolution Gaming, Funky Time takes players on a disco-themed journey that takes place in the 1970s. This bonus and multiplier-packed adventure, which is the biggest new release since the well-known Crazy Time, offers a heady mix of unique bonus rounds with top prizes of up to £500,000 and wagers starting at just 10p. Keep on reading our Funky Time review to learn more.
You can play Funky Time at any of the top live casinos listed below:
The main feature of Funky Time is a huge digital prize wheel. Players wager on the outcome as the presenter spins the wheel. A normal round is brief, pleasant, and simple enough for beginners to understand.
Predicting which section the wheel will stop on is your task. Simply choose your stake and click on the wagers you want to place to do so.
There are 64 segments in the wheel. One sort of segment has a higher chance of winning the game the more times it appears on the wheel. Less risky bets, however, typically pay less. There are 64 segments on the wheel, most of which are letters and numbers. The only number on the reels is "1," which pays out in a ratio of 1:1. The letters that follow spell out "Play," "Funk," and "Time." The payout for each of these letters is 25:1. The bonus sections fill the remaining spots on the DigiWheel.
The RTP of Funky Time varies and runs from 95.38 to 95.99%, which is comparable to many of the live game shows that Evolution Gaming has produced. This is due to the abundance of additional features it offers (more on this later). Accepted wagers on the Funky Time game range from 10p to £10,000, though the accepted range may vary depending on your chosen operator, either way, make sure to always wager within your budget.
Similar to its spiritual predecessor Crazy Time, the Funky Time live game features four bonus games. For these to be triggered the wheel needs to stop on their respective segments. The bonus games are called the Bar Bonus, Stayin’ Alive Bonus, Disco Bonus and the VIP Bonus.
You may select from the blue, yellow, or pink glass. The multiplier goes up as the glass fills up. The machine then tops off the glass with an olive to increase the multiplier even further.
You will need to choose a colour once more, but this time, three balls will be connected to each colour. Each of the balls has a ladder at the top of the screen.
The drawing machine produces balls. Players move up one level on the corresponding colour ladder since the majority of the balls have the number "1" on them. With balls bearing the number "2," players can jump two levels. Four plates are located at the bottom of the screen; after all four plates are burned through, the bonus is over.
On a 37-square virtual dance floor where the game is being played, Mr. Funky walks around. The presenter spins a tiny wheel to choose which way Mr. Funky will move while gaining multipliers. The game ends when he hits the ground, and the multipliers that have been accumulated are added up and divided among the players.

The magnificent studio is Funky Time's most striking feature. It is obvious that a great deal of work and effort went into developing the subject, characters, and environment at the studio.
Additionally, Funky Time includes all of Evolution's quality-of-life features. This contains a flexible setting menu, thorough histories of bets and results, and language choices.
The sole Funky Time live game that is currently accessible 24/7 is hosted in English, however, the game's text can be altered to another language. English, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, French, German, Hindi, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish are all supported on the Evolution user interface.
Despite having numerous stages and bonus elements, the Funky Time game's pay structure is very simple. The number 1 will always pay out at a 1:1 ratio if there are no multipliers active, whereas all letters payout at a 25:1 ratio. The Bar bonus feature has a cap reward of £500,000, while the best prize in three of the four bonus games is 10,000x stake.
Funky Time Mobile makes sure that players on mobile devices love gaming just as much. The game offers fluid action and simple controls because it has been optimised for mobile phones. It only takes a few taps to place a wager on your preferred selections after choosing the chip value. The fascinating studio setting and colourful images are maintained on the mobile interface, letting you fully immerse yourself in the mood of the 1970s. The thrill of a live game show is available at your fingertips with Funky Time on mobile, whether you are waiting for a train or unwinding at home.

All in all, Funky Time makes for the perfect follow-up to Evolution’s Crazy Time live game and heralds a new era of Evolution’s live games which we are sure to see other developers try to emulate in the future. Funky Time manages to seamlessly fuse a bounty of new and innovative features, while still keeping gameplay very simple and beginner-friendly. For example, despite the reels being filled with 17 different bet combinations, wagering and payouts stick to a simple formula that even the newest of newbies can follow.
As always, the production quality of the Funky Time game is very high, as we have come to expect from Evolution Gaming. The use of AR and digital elements has been seen before in live games, but in Funky Time it feels fresh and forwarding thinking. However, the one drawback of the Funky Time game that I can see is how similar the Disco and VIP Disco bonus rounds are with the VIP bonus being an exact clone of the Disco bonus simply with higher payouts. It would have been great if Evolution had shaken the formula up a little more, maybe combined all three of the other bonus games for the VIP Bonus, because it really feels like Funky Time should boast that it offers 3.5 bonus games, and not 4.
Overall though, Funky Time truly is an innovation in live games and I feel heralds the next era of live casino games, and I am excited to see how rival developers and even Evolution themselves respond to the massive success of the Funky Time live game.
