3 Tiny Gods Bonanza Slot Review

3 Tiny Gods Bonanza has no significant visual differences from the original 3 Tiny Gods slot. Set in Ancient Egypt at nighttime, with brilliant navy skies filled with stars. the changes made are minor - for example, the pillars on the sides of the reels have changed, as has the stonework on the ground - but the overall character players loved from the first game has been retained. The graphics have been significantly improved, but Foxium has designed to keep their unique cartoonish style, with design and shading that is reminiscent of animations and video games from the early 2000s - which is sure to add a nostalgic edge for some players.

The reels include the same symbols as before, but they have been upgraded to seem much sleeker and brighter overall.  The stars of the show are the Egyptian gods Anubis, Bastet, and Horus. Anubis, commonly represented with a jackal's head, was the ancient Egyptian god of mummification and the afterlife, tasked with guiding souls through the underworld. Bastet, sometimes depicted as a lioness or cat or as a lady with a feline head, was the goddess of home, fertility, and childbirth, as well as protection and music. Horus, depicted as a falcon or a falcon-headed man, was a major deity in Egyptian mythology, representing monarchy, the sky, and combat, and was frequently portrayed as the pharaoh's protector. Speaking of the Pharaoh two of the ancient rules appear on the reels too; with a female pharaoh which we can assume is the Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra and the Male Pharoah who is likely Rameses II or Tutankhamun.

Everything is tied together with a vibrant Egyptian musical score, though you can easily toggle the sound on and off if you prefer providing your own soundtrack.

Diamonds, clubs, spades, and hearts are the lowest paying symbols in 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza. These four symbols pay out 2x to 8x the bet for a winning combination of 12 or more symbols. Horus, Bastet, and Anubis are the 3 tiny gods that give the slot its name and pay up to 10X-15X the bet. The male and female pharaohs are the most lucrative symbols, awarding up to 25x and 50x the total bet, respectively. There is no Wild Symbol used in the game due to its payout structure but there is a  Scatter Symbol that can activate the Free Spins bonus round, as well as bonus features pertaining to each of the gods; but more on this later.

Despite its ‘tiny’ moniker, the 3 Tiny Gods slot machine packs in a fair few features. The features included in gameplay are Rolling Reels, Horus Blessing, Anubis Multiplier, Gift of Bastet, Free Spins, Feature Buy(non-UK only), and a Gamble Feature.

Rolling Reels

The Rolling Reels feature activates whenever you win in the base game or during the free spins. Winning symbols are removed, and new ones drop down to cover the reels. If you get a fresh win, the winning symbols are erased. The feature will persist as long as winning combinations continue to land. If you have played a Megaways game or similar titles before then this is very similar to cascading or tumbling reels.

Horus Blessing

Horus is the falcon-headed tiny god and when he appears, he bestows winnings and can increase the value of some payouts.

Anubis Multiplier

Anubis is the Jackal-headed tiny god and rules over the game's win multiplier. Anubis displays any winning combinations that have a multiplier attached and during free spins, the win multipliers are applied to the overall win multiplier. 

The multiplier symbol can occur on any reel in both the main game and the Free Spins mode symbols will display randomly selected multiplier values ranging from 2X to 500X. These do not disappear during the Rolling Reels feature.

Gift of Bastet

Bastet is a lesser-used god within the online slots world but she is such a sweet cat that you do not want to overlook her as she can be your ticket to free spins. When three Scatter Symbols appear on the screen, Bastet can transform some of them into Mystery Symbols, which may reveal additional Scatter Symbols and activate the bonus game.

Free Spins

The Scatter Symbol appears on every reel. Landing 4, 5, or 6 Scatters anywhere activates the free spins bonus feature, which pays 6X, 10X, or 200X the stake. They exist in both the main game and Free Spins, and they do not disappear during Rolling Reels.

The free spins bonus feature starts with 15 spins regardless of the number of scatters which were collected to activate it, and any multiplier symbols that occur are added to the total multiplier amount. The total win multiplier is applied whenever a win multiplier appears on the reels. Landing three or more Scatters gets you five extra spins.

Gamble Feature

Instead of purchasing a specific ticket to the Free Spins, as in the Feature Buy, players can wager their way to them. This is a fun solution to the banning of feature buy bonuses in regions such as the UK.

Founded in 2015, Foxium is still a relative young gun in the online casino world, but if they continue to release slots like 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza with their signature cartoon animation style, then they might start to be talked about alongside the big guns like Games global and Pragmatic Play. While the specific cartoon style used is not quite to my taste, I know that plenty of players will enjoy it, and it is certainly a unique visual take on the Ancient Egyptian slot genre.

One thing I wish though, is that Foxium had taken the time to consider some storytelling within their game. Why are the gods tiny? Is this a ‘honey! I shrunk the kids’ type situation, are they the gods of a mini, pocket-sized replica of our world? I think there is a gold mine of comedic potential and uniqueness that Foxium has yet to explore - hopefully, we can learn more in any future releases from this series.

Though tiny might be in the name, 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza has certainly left a big impression on me. Currently, cluster pays slot machines are king, but this slots’ scatter pays ‘pay anywhere’ mechanic feels really refreshing while still adjacent to a cluster pays game. The sheer number of bonus features that Foxium has been able to cram into this release is impressive, and I particularly like the use of a gambling feature as an alternative option to the UK-restricted feature buy. 

So long as you play at the optimum 96.11% RTP, the overall impression I have of the 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza slot is very good. As it is so easy to set up, with no need for payline configuration, and wins are easy to determine; simply requiring x amount of symbols to be present per spin, plus its broad betting range, 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza is a game accessible to players of all skill levels and device preferences. For these reasons, I rate the 3 Tiny Gods Bonanza at a gigantic 8/10.
