Beanstalk Bonanza Ultra Link and Win Slot Review

We’ve mentioned earlier that Beanstalk Bonanza has two bonus features. One of these is right in the title, while the other is something called “Epic Strike”. What do these involve? Well, that’s why we’re here, of course! 

Epic Strike

Epic Strike is this slot’s jackpot feature. The way this works is very simple - land three or more magic bean symbols and you’ll get a payout as listed on the paytable. This can range from 1.5x the stake for three beans to the maximum of 5,000x for 12 beans. Now that’s something truly worth getting from magic beans, right?

Ultra Link and Win Round

As fun as getting an Epic Strike is, the Ultra Link and Win round is the main bonus feature. Land the three scatters found on reels 1, 3, and 5 and the beanstalk will start growing, taking the reels to the land above the clouds. Here you’ll meet the goose that laid these golden eggs, as well as a completely different reel setup. 

The Link and Win feature is, essentially, a hold and spin-style feature with a twist. You get 3 respins, with which to land golden eggs or coins on the reels. Land at least one of these symbols and this will lock in place before the number of respins reset back to 3. Simple, right? Wel, here’s the twist - land 6 symbols and the reels will grow in height by one row! This way you can get reels with 7 rows, with rows unlocked in the following way: 

• Row 4 - land 6 eggs/coins
• Row 5 - 10 eggs/coins
• Row 6 - 15 eggs/coins
• Row 7 - 24 eggs/coins

Coins hold cash values that are worth 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x the bet, while eggs pay out according to the paytable found on the left-hand side of the reels. Landing 12 eggs will award you with this game’s maximum payout of 10,000x the stake! The bonus round ends once you either run out of respins or fill all reel positions with an egg or coin.

Beanstalk Bonanza is definitely a bright and cheerful affair complete with great visuals and some toe-tapping music. This alone makes for an appealing game, but the proof of a slot is in the gameplay pudding - and this is where the Beanstalk Bonanza can lack. The low volatility gameplay and 96.2% might prove relaxing for many players, but the truly big wins are hard to come by. For instance, during our testing we did manage to trigger an Epic Strike a few times, but only with three (and one time four) beans. That said, the Ultra Link and Win feature does manage to brighten the frankly staid hold and win formula, and it does lead to thrilling spins once you manage to finally activate it.
