Unlike many slots of the era, the Cashapillar slot comes with a pretty unique storyline. The main premise is that Cashapillar is celebrating his 100th birthday and has invited all of his insect friends to a garden party like no other. The celebratory atmosphere is extended to the player with 100 paylines awarded - one for each year of the Cashapillars life.
The game has a birthday theme, with the scene set showing Cashapillar with his presents. The Cashapillar's guests include snails, beetles, ladybirds, and other insects and these serve as the high-paying symbols. Given how fast trends move, it is surprising that a slot such as Cashapillar is so popular and should be an indication of how well-designed the game is. When it came out with its 100 paylines in 2008 (8 years before Megaways games were first released) the Cashapillar game shook things up, and while it will not win any of these accolades nowadays, it is still fun to look back with nostalgic affection and give the reels a few spins. Statistically, the game still holds up pretty well - on par with retro games, and the visuals are perfectly serviceable and whimsical. For these reasons, I give the Cashapillar slot a respectable 6.5/10.
