The Deco Diamonds slot features a mix of three bonus features, the majority of which are those seen in classic video slots such as wilds and scatters all wrapped up in the Art Deco flair that is present from every angle of the game. These bonus features are discussed in more detail below.

Wild and Scatter Symbols

In Deco Diamonds, there are two Wilds: one that reads Deco Diamonds and one that says Wild Diamonds. These can replace any other symbol on the reels and help you produce winning combinations.

The logo symbols can pay out when two or more occur on a payline. Matching two Deco Diamond symbols on a payline will give you a modest 1x your bet, but if you're lucky enough to match five on a payline, you will receive the top prize of 1,000x your original wager.

The Scatter in an online slots game often initiates a Bonus Feature round, but in Deco Diamonds, the twin Wilds render this unnecessary. However, the Deco Diamonds bonus symbol functions similarly to a Scatter, as three or more of the symbols are needed to activate the Bonus Wheel round.

Deco Diamonds Respins

The Deco Diamonds symbols are the secret to the game's highest prizes. When two or more of them appear on the reels, an automatic Respin is triggered, regardless of whether they align on paylines. You will receive one Free Spin, with the possibility of triggering additional Respins as you proceed.

Bonus Wheel

When three or more Deco Diamond symbols appear on the reels, the Bonus Wheel activates. This round has three levels, the silver, gold, and diamond levels which are awarded if you collect three, four, or five symbols. Players can start on one of the lower levels, and then advance up if the wheel's pointer reaches the 'Level Up' indicator.

Each bonus wheel has five prizes. The Silver Wheel returns 5x, 8x, 18x, 58x, and 80x the total bet, the Gold Wheel returns 8x, 18x, 58x, 98x, and 588x, and the Diamond Wheel returns the most, with 18x, 58x, 98x, 588x, up to 1,000x the total original bet.

As a former arts student Art Nouveau (the art movement which preceded Art Deco), has always been an interest of mine, and naturally expanded to include the shift to Art Deco; so I feel like I have some authority on the subject. Therefore, I am not only excited to see a slot inspired by one of the most revolutionary creative movements of the 20th century but also very pleased to see that developer Just for the Win has done their homework and has created a game which authentically recreates core elements of the movement. 

I particularly love the redesign of iconic fruit machine symbols and this, and many other elements such as the 5x3 video slot format, and additional bonus elements like respins and a prize wheel make the Deco Diamonds slot feel like a faithful reimagining of the classic fruit machine subtly altered for a modern audience. It is easy for a developer to recreate the retro ‘fruitie’ slot as a form of love letter to the originator of modern slots, but by building upon these core elements and enhancing them, Just for the Win has created something much more exciting. 

The RTP of the Deco Diamonds slot at 96.03% aligns the game with modern slots, more than retro ones, though the 1,000x top prize feels more in line with classic games. This and many other aspects, such as design, graphics, and bonus features, seat the Deco Diamonds slot between the retro and modern online slots; making it ideal for classic slot fans looking to try video slots for the first time and vice versa.  

Overall, while at first glance the Deco Diamonds slot might seem like a retro game with modern graphics, the game offers far more than meets the eye, and I think the slot will unexpectedly delight many players. For these reasons, I give the Deco Diamonds slot a luxurious 8.5/10.
