I am not a big fan of Retro Gaming (owned by Spinomenal) slots in general when playing on mobile. Fortune of the Scarab 2 just reconfirms my doubts that the studio just does not care for the mobile experience of its slots. The game features a huge spin button right in your face. The spin button takes up almost as much as the whole grid above it. On one side, it feels unavoidable—after all, there are just three rows. But then, if you see other games, you will find it is perfectly okay to centre the reels vertically on the screen and keep buttons small but legible.
The game works just fine, even if it does not have the best attention to detail in terms of mobile optimisation.

Spinomenal has tried its best to add some extra depth to an otherwise bland, just-another-one-type Egypto-themed slot game. Has it succeeded? Well, not for me. But to some, the basic features and the Retro Bet might sound like an excellent idea.

During the Free Spins, a win multiplier is applied based on the number of triggering scatters. The multipliers increase to x2, x5, and x20, depending on how many scatters activate the feature. And you can extend the round by landing more Scatters.
Retro Bet Feature

The Retro Bet feature is definitely a unique addition to Fortune of the Scarab 2. You pay an additional cost to introduce a Wild symbol in the centre, which increases the probability of forming winning combinations, especially during the base game. The cost of the Retro Bet is the same as your total stake, meaning you will pay for the added Wild with every spin.

Mystery Symbol
It is a wonder that this third special feature (after the Wild and Scatter/Free Spins) does not have “Mystery” written in huge fonts on it. That might have something to do with its need to show an opening animation.

It does make the game a tad bit more surprising, dynamic, and unpredictable. Over the long term, however, I could not feel it adding much value to my spins.
