The Gold Trio: Lil' Demon game is set in a fiery pit that looks just like the kind of place that the mischievous demon character would be right at home. The three gold pots at the top of the reels and the slowly spinning Fire Wheel to their left are the main attractions, although the symbols on the reels also deserve a mention. Magical-looking crowns and spears, a flaming black dice and a rather evil-looking key are found on the reels, alongside coloured coins, a Fire Coin and the demon himself, who is the highest-paying standard symbol on the reels.
The soundtrack is playful and sounds vaguely cinematic, but I’m not sure that it perfectly fits with the fiery images of a demon’s lair. It’s harmless enough, but if you don’t feel like listening to it you can easily mute it from within the game screen.

The frequent appearance of coloured symbols on the reels is quite motivating in theory, although it can be frustrating to see pots filling up without an indication of when they might be triggered (perhaps a progress meter might have felt more rewarding). It seems like Playtech are going for the surprise factor instead, which can also be fun – particularly if you’re lucky enough to trigger the respins round or the Fire Wheel.
