The grid is carved into an ancient stone wall surrounded by vines and golden artefacts, while Gonzo himself stands to the side, cheering (and occasionally dancing) after big wins.

The low-paying symbols are engraved masks with detailed geometric designs. High-paying ones feature ornate deity faces glowing with gem tones. Occasionally, these high-value icons appear as colossal symbols in 2x2, 3x3, or even 4x4 form, counting as multiple symbols at once.

The Wild symbol replaces any regular symbol to form winning combinations and can also appear as a colossal Wild during Random Wilds. The Scatter symbol is key to unlocking Free Spins or Super Free Spins.

I found Gonzo’s Quest 2 visually impressive but mechanically predictable. It is a well-made game with solid features, but it struggles to recapture the magic of the original’s simplicity. The colossal symbols and multipliers keep things interesting for a while, yet the novelty fades faster than expected. It is good, but not great.
