Rick and Morty Strike Back has a whole host of bonus features. These include ones found in regular play, like cash collect and portal modifiers, as well as four different free spins modes. We will go through each one, how it works, and how to trigger it below. 

Cash Collect & Hotstepper

On every spin of Rick and Morty Strike Back, there is a chance for cash values to appear on the reels. To collect the cash amounts displayed on the reels, you need to land them with a collect symbol. If two of the collect symbols land on the reel with the cash values, they will pay out twice.

Minor, major, and mega jackpot symbols can also land on the reels and be collected in the same way as the cash value symbols. These are worth 20x, 200x, and 2,500x your wager respectively. 

If you land a collect symbol in reel 2, it will be classed as a ‘hot-stepper’. This means that it will stay on the reel, moving down 1 position with each spin until it disappears off of the bottom row. 

Portal Modifiers

You have the chance to trigger the portal modifier on every spin. If you do, three portals will appear on the screen from the portal gun. After selecting one, one of five modifiers will be applied. These are:

• Cosmic Clash, which increases the cash values on the reels. 
• Morty Moolah, which adds more cash values to the reels. 
• Rick Repeat, which makes all cash values that appear on the reels sticky. This continues until no more cash values can land.

Free Spins Bonus Games

If you land 3 scatter symbols on the reels, then the free spins mode will activate. On your first time triggering the free spins mode, you will have two game modes to choose from:

These free spins remove all other symbols from the reels apart from the cash values, jackpots and collect symbols. Rick C-137 Spins

Rick C-137 spins work in the opposite way to Morty spins, as they remove all cash values and jackpots, and collect symbols. Evil Morty Spins

These spins work similarly to the Morty Spins round from earlier but with one key difference in that it also adds the Evil Morty symbol. If the Evil Morty symbol lands, it either boosts the value of all of the cash values or makes them all match the highest cash value shown on the reels. It can also collect all symbols for an extra collection bonus. Like the Morty Spins, after each spin, you will either get another spin or collect your winnings from the portal. 

Prime Rick Spins

Prime Rick Spins again work similarly to the Rick C-137 spins you unlocked earlier. However, when you get 3 or more wilds, this game mode instead removes the lowest paying symbol from the reels and gives you 2 extra spins. This will continue until you run out of spins, so if you get rid of a lot of symbols, you could be in for some high winning potential.

All in all, Rick and Morty Strike Back is a solid slot game that plays faithfully to the hit TV show and its theme. One of the refreshing things about this slot is the 6 x 4 reel layout, which makes a nice change from a lot of the typical slots out here alongside helping to increase the win potential by increasing the paylines to a respectable 4,096. 

The bonus games are also fun and inventive, especially the Portal Modifiers. While the payout potential from the free spins is good, to access the more lucrative Prime Rick spins you need to have played Morty Spins and Rick C-137 spins first, which is frustrating that you have to trigger the free spins mode 3 times to get there. 

Another downside is the RTP. While 95% is not too shabby, if you play at an online casino that runs 92% RTP you will likely be disappointed. Remember to check the RTP at your chosen casino site before you play.
