The theme in the Rotiki slot game celebrates Polynesian 'Tiki' culture. It is based on King Kamehameha I, who was the King of Hawaii in the late 18th and early 19th century. This great king was revered by his people, and his prosperous reign led to a fortune being amassed. Not wanting to share the fruits of his reign, King Kamehameha I was buried in secret. The vivid reels are set in the heart of the tropical rainforest, with a slight haze to the scenery which brings the tropical humidity to life. There are a total of 48 tiles, and every pick decreases the amount of picks that remain by 1. In this bonus round, the following tiles are available:
- 31 Neutral Tiles: These tiles have no purpose or payout value and use up one pick.
- 9 Multiplier Tiles: Upon selection, the multiplier, (which starts at 1x), increases by 1. As there are 10 tiles, this means the maximum multiplier that players can achieve is 10x their total
- Six Extra Pick Tiles: When selected these tiles will award an additional pick meaning that up to 6 additional picks can be received by the player.
- One Special Tile: This special title will end the bonus feature, but not for any negative reason, as it will award players with the maximum 10x multiplier should it be revealed by the player.
The Treasure Room feature can conclude in one of three ways; either the player runs out of picks, they reach the maximum 10x multiplier through their picks, or they reveal the special tile to instantly claim the 10x multiplier and end the round.
Rotiki Final Thoughts
While I’m not 100% sure exactly what ‘Tiki Magic’ is, it is clear that the Rotiki slot from Play n’ Go is chock full of it. The RTP for this slot of 96.2% is great, the medium volatility keeps gameplay accessible to a wide range of players, and the broad betting range means that even players with the most conservative budget can enjoy a decent play session with the Rotiki slot.
There is a selection of Polynesian/Tiki-themed slots out there, but it is by no means a crowded market.
