Wild West Angel Slot Review

As you might expect, the Wild West Angel slot game is inspired by classic Western films. The reels seem to be in front of an old-fashioned saloon, and the cowgirl (or ‘Wild West Angel’) who keeps you company at the side of the reels could have walked straight out of a Spaghetti Western. 

Although the Wild West Angel is impressively detailed and looks almost three dimensional, it is a shame that the reels and symbols behind her seem a little dated. If the same attention to detail had been given to the rest of the game, it would likely have been even more engaging.

In terms of audio, Wild West Angel has a fairly standard Western-inspired soundtrack featuring twanging guitars, chiming bells and some soft drums in the background. The music fits the theme well, although I did find it a little irritating after a while.

Wild West Angel has a couple of special symbols, which are the Wild and the Scatter. The Wild is represented by the Wild West Angel herself, and can substitute for all symbols except the Scatter. Wilds are also the highest-paying symbols on the reels, and will pay out 15x your bet for five of a kind.

The Scatter (represented by the entrance to the saloon) triggers the free spins round if you land three or more of them on the reels. It also has a payout value, and will pay out 3x your bet for five matching symbols.

The Wild West Angel slot has a number of special features to look out for. Here they are in a little more detail:

Rodeo’s Win Multiplier

This feature can be triggered randomly after any standard win of 5x your bet or more. The Rodeo multiplier will multiply your win, starting at 2x with a maximum value of 32x your bet.

Bounty Reel

Bounty Reel can be triggered randomly during the base game or Free Spins. Between three and five reels will combine to form a giant reel, with colossal symbols that give you more opportunities to land a winning combination.

Western Steam Train

This feature can also activate during the base game or Free Spins. A glowing frame will appear on up to five reels, and on those reels only high-paying or Wild symbols will appear.

Revolver Chance

A randomly triggered feature that works similarly to a wheel of fortune. A revolver will appear on the screen, and each chamber has a different prize. Prizes include win multipliers of up t0 50x your bet, or a fast-track to Free Spins or the Super Respin Bonus.

Free Spins

Get three Scatters on the reels to play the free spins game (it can also be triggered from the Revolver Chance feature, as I mentioned above). The Western Steam Train feature and the Bounty Reels features can trigger more frequently during Free Spins, giving you more chances to win.

Super Respin Bonus

This bonus can be triggered from the Revolver Chance feature, and you will spin the wheel for a chance to win prizes. This round offers a chance to win one of four jackpots featured in the game.

Although the reels look a little dated, Wild West Angel makes up for it with an impressive six bonus features. Most of them are triggered randomly, which makes the bonuses feel a little more like they are within reach. Although I only triggered the Western Steam Train bonus during the time I spent testing the game, it seems like this feature-heavy game has lots of potential.

The Western theme is one that has been tried and tested by many slots on the market, so it is nice to see this one differentiate itself slightly by introducing a female protagonist. I would have liked a bit more effort to have gone into the design of the reels and the symbols, but all in all this is an entertaining slot game with a higher-than-average number of bonus features. 

With a top prize of 12,200x your bet and a relatively high RTP of 96.78%, Wild West Angel is also an attractive proposition from a technical point of view and one that deserves a place next to other classic Western slots.
