Razor Ways is a new release from the popular game developer ‘Push Gaming’. It follows on from the original 2019 ‘Razor Shark’ title and the 2023 sequel ‘Razor Returns’. The success of the last two games is what led Push Gaming to make it a trilogy.
If you’re familiar with the originals, your first glance may be that Razor Ways looks to have slightly worse graphics than it’s predecessor. The guys at Push Gaming opted for a more simplistic modern design in the third instalment.
They have also made some big changes to the gameplay, with paylines being snubbed for ways - hence the name ‘Razor Ways’ and some of the features have also been altered to create a new experience. Here at the Gambling Zone, we will take you through some of these.
Razor Ways Features
New Features, Same Sharks
The Razor series has always been known for its vast amount of features and different ways to win. If this is your kind of thing then you’ll be glad to know that nothing changes in the new addition…
Expanding Rows
When you first spin you will have the bottom three rows of the reels already unlocked. There are three more rows that can be unlocked by a cascade or Instant Prize. This resets at the end of each game.
Expanding Wild
Expanding wilds area feature found in many different slot titles but this is their first appearance in the ‘Razor’ series. They work as you’d expect them to, they can land from normal play or from ‘Mystery Symbols’.
They expand to cover the reel they land on, converting all symbols on that reel to wilds.
Wild Converter
Similarly to the expanding wilds, the wild converter can also land from normal play or from a mystery symbol. It picks a random paying symbol and will convert all of them into wilds. You can land up to two of them at a time.
Razor’s Returning Reveal Feature
One of the features that separated Razor Returns from the competition was the ‘Razor Reveal’ feature. It has a couple of new additions, here is how it works:
It’s activated when mystery symbols land on three or more consecutive reels. This can occur in the base game or in a bonus game. This will then turn them into the familiar golden shark symbols.
The golden shark symbols spin themselves to reveal the following:
- Instant prize from 1x to 5000x the bet
- A scatter symbol
- A collector symbol which collects the instant prizes and then allows the symbols to spin again.
- A converter symbol which will randomly spin through the the standard symbols, the one that lands will have all instances turn into additional golden sharks
- A multiplier symbol which multiplies all of the instant win values from 2x-10x.
It sounds like a lot but you just have to give it a go and it will seem a lot simpler.
