WGames Acquisition
Hard Rock Digital has announced the launch of Hard Rock Games, a new unit that will create and provide free-to-play and mobile games. This follows Hard Rock Digitial’s recent acquisition of leading social gaming company WGames.
Following this acquisition, Hard Rock will benefit from access to enhanced in-house technology, all of which will help it grow exponentially within the social gaming sector. The social-gaming sector has long been a useful acquisition market for operators, and Hard Rock will look to elevate its big-name status and new partnership to help cement its position as one of the leading providers in this market.
As per the deal, WGames’ full suite of titles, including hits like Jackpot Planet and Neverland Casino, will all become part of Hard Rock Games’ new portfolio. The titles will all be fully integrated into the Unity platform and Hard Rock Loyalty Program.
Industry Leading Technology
Hard Rock Digital’s Executive Managing Director, Rafi Ashkenazi, spoke with great enthusiasm about both the launch of Hard Rock Games and the acquisition of WGames. He said that the acquisition and the access it provides to world-class technology will allow Hard Rock to accelerate its growth in the social gaming space.
Ashkenazi continued by saying that the enhanced capabilities of Hard Rock Games will allow the company to better engage with playing communities worldwide and provide unique and entertaining experiences that are unrivalled elsewhere.
Daniel Kajouie, the founder of WGames, who will now serve as Managing Director of Hard Rock games, described it as an honour to work alongside Hard Rock. He added that he is looking forward to working alongside a global brand like Hard Rock and developing immersive gaming experiences for millions of players worldwide.
A Busy Year
This launch ends a busy year for Hard Rock Digitial. The company announced industry giant Playtech had purchased a minor stake in the business in March, with the agreement providing Hard Rock Digitial with access to a range of Playtech’s iGaming content, including slots and live dealer games.
It has also been busy expanding into more US markets, with its launch in Florida in November being met with opposition from West Glagler, another operator in the state. This was later rejected by the Florida State Supreme Court, with Hard Rock allowed to continue operations.
