Expanding Reach
The Betsson Group already has an established presence in the Danish market, and they will look to capitalise on this with the launch of the Betsson brand. Betsson.dk will run in the market alongside the NordicBet brand, which the company also operates.
NordicBet has been a success for the brand in the country and is among one of the most respected sports betting brands in Denmark.
Denmark has been identified as a key region for the Betsson Group, which is not surprising given the success the country has experienced there. In their Q2 financial reports for 2023, the group reported that 22% of its total business revenue was from Nordic countries.
A Major Market
In a press release confirming the launch, Ronni Hartvig, the company’s CCO, commented on the importance of the Danish market to the company. He said that by consolidating their brands in Denmark under one brand that the company can maintain a consistent image in the market.
Hartvig also commented that the move will allow Betsson to scale as and when needed. He said that rebranding allows the company to harness the resources they have and to cultivate a cohesive brand identity. He also believes the rebranding will present more positive marketing opportunities.
A New Marketing Campaign
The launch of the new website also ties in with a new marketing campaign from the company. ‘A Bet Makes the Difference’ has been launched in the Nordic regions, across Europe, and in the Latin American market. It aims to spread messaging about gambling being for fun and not being about chasing big wins.
The company wants to put the focus on cherishing the moment and enjoying the process of gambling, rather than just playing for big wins and short bursts of joy. Betsson has described the project as their most ambitious yet, and it is being headed up Rodrigo Savvedra, and the company’s in-house team.
