Aston Villa vs Liverpool Betting Tips - Premier League

With Tottenham having won on Saturday, the race for fourth place remains very much on. Aston Villa are coming under pressure despite a strong campaign, as their form has taken a nose-dive late in the campaign.

The Villans have lost three games in a row, exiting the Europa Conference League and missing the chance to wrap up a top-four finish. They need one more victory from their final two matches to ensure a Champions League berth, starting with Monday night’s clash with Liverpool.

  • Over 3.5 Goals
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold to score anytime
  • Liverpool to win 3-2

Back More Goals At Villa Park

Villa have seen four or more goals scored in 13 of their 18 home league matches this season and their final match at Villa Park should be another spectacle. There have been 23 goals scored across Villa’s last five home matches in all competitions, even though Unai Emery’s side appear to be somewhat flagging.

Liverpool were in a similar position a few weeks ago, with their quadruple hopes falling apart after a busy run of games. While the Reds have been vulnerable defensively for months, their forward line faltered during a crucial stretch. They did return to form in time to do Villa a favour as they beat Tottenham 4-2 at Anfield last weekend.

Liverpool have seen over 3.5 goals in three of their last four games and given Villa’s high-scoring home form, over 3.5 goals looks like the best bet here.

Reds’ Full-Backs Making A Difference

A high-scoring game looks likely, especially when considering how committed Liverpool look going forward. While this hasn’t been a vintage year for Mohamed Salah, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds tenure is winding down with his team really pushing on.

Across their last four games, Liverpool have seen three goals from their full-backs. Andy Robertson has been fantastic for the visitors, scoring twice in that run. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been getting opportunities.

The right-back has had four shots on goal in each of Liverpool’s last two games, while he has had at least one effort in each of his last six appearances. The England international hasn’t been as effective in terms of assists this season, but he could match his best-ever scoring return in the Premier League with a goal at Villa Park.

With the full-back getting plenty of chances, he’s a good value anytime goalscorer pick.

Villa’s Slump To Continue

Villa have lost three on the spin and they are fortunate it isn’t four, with Chelsea’s late winner chalked off before their losing streak began. The Villans are on a bad run, while their return from their home games against sides around them this term suggests they could struggle on Monday night.

Villa were able to secure huge 1-0 victories over both of the top two at home, but they’ve lost three of four clashes to the four sides directly behind them, alongside that draw with Chelsea.

Villa have conceded 11 times in those four matches and they meet a Liverpool team who are going to cause them plenty of problems.

Only St James’ Park has seen more Premier League goals than Villa Park this season and with the visitors looking to send Klopp off on a high this week, back them to edge another goal-laden affair in a 3-2 win.
