Arsenal will be hoping to see in the New Year with three vital points when they make the short trip to the Gtech Community Stadium to face Brentford.

The Gunners are unbeaten in 11 games across all competitions, with their 1-0 win against Ipswich in their last outing being their second consecutive Premier League victory and sending them up to second place in the table.

Brentford have been in brilliant form at home this season, avoiding defeat in the first eight league games that they have hosted, but were defeated on the ninth occasion against Nottingham Forest.

The home fixtures have perhaps been a little kind for the Bees, yet that is now set to change, with Manchester City and Liverpool to follow Arsenal’s visit before January is out.

Gunners Will Grab Entertaining Win

Even though Brentford are hard to beat at home, winning seven of the nine Premier League games that they have hosted, they are not difficult to score against.

The Bees have conceded in all nine of those matches and have let in at least two in five of the most recent six fixtures at the Gtech.

That spells trouble against an Arsenal side that have had no issues scoring on the road in recent weeks, notching a total of 16 goals from their last four away games.

They have scored five goals in three of those matches, against Sporting, West Ham and Crystal Palace, and they will feel confident of notching a few against Brentford.

Arsenal will, of course, miss the injured Bukayo Saka, but Mikel Arteta is awash with attacking options and the absence of the England international gives those players a chance to prove themselves.

Expect Lively Start At The Gtech

Considering that Brentford have a strong home record, despite conceding regularly, it will come as no surprise that they are heavy scorers at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Their nine home games have seen the Bees score 26 times, the most that any Premier League side had recorded at their own ground going into this round of fixtures.

Some 15 have come in the first half, with Thomas Frank’s team having become specialists at scoring in the opening seconds of matches this season.

Both teams have found the net in five of Brentford’s last six home games in the Premier League, and this promises to be an entertaining contest.

Mbeumo Is The Value Scorer

For all the attacking talent they possess, Arsenal lack a reliable goalscorer, tending to share the burden across their forward line.

The same is not true at Brentford, as Bryan Mbeumo has found the net 10 times in 18 Premier League appearances this season.

Eight of those goals have come at home, with the 25-year-old a reliable penalty taker for the hosts.

Mbeumo scored Brentford’s most recent goal away at Chelsea and is the value choice to add to his tally in another London derby.
