The British Masters returns to the Belfry for the fourth consecutive season where Tyrrell Hatton, now primarily plying his trade on the LIV Golf circuit, makes a rare DP World Tour appearance.

Hatton, who made the move to LIV at the beginning of the year, is going in search of world ranking points at the Midlands venue and, having won the LIV Nashville title in June, it's no surprise to see him priced up as the one they all have to beat.

The Brabazon Course, famously the scene of four Ryder Cups between 1985 and 2002, tends to present a tough test of tee-to-green golf and high-quality, accurate ball-striking is generally the starting point for those looking to find the British Masters winner.

Italian Ace Has The Tools

While Hatton could prove hard to beat if he's on his game, the Buckinghamshire man was not at his best at the Greenbrier in his most recent LIV appearance and it could pay to look for value elsewhere, starting with Matteo Manassero.

Manassero burst onto the European Tour as a teenager before losing his way completely, but he's found form again over the last couple of seasons, culminating in an emotional triumph at the Jonsson Workwear Open in March.

The once-prodigious Italian won the BMW PGA Championship at similarly claustrophobic Wentworth in 2013 and he should find the Brabazon Course to his liking. He has finished 15th at the Scottish Open, 31st at the Open and 18th in the Olympics in his last three starts and this field is not of the same quality.

Local Hero Poised To End Drought

Nuneaton-born Andy Sullivan knows every blade of grass at the Belfry and looks a solid bet in a bid to end a four-year victory drought.

The 37-year-old has won four DP World Tour titles, the most recent of them coming in the English Championship at Hanbury Manor in 2020. He has also shown an ability to handle this venue, finishing ninth in 2020, sixth in 2021 and 15th last season.

Sullivan was second in an Asian Tour event at Foxhills, Surrey, earlier this month and he has subsequently produced two solid DP World Tour efforts, finishing 28th in the Czech Masters and 27th in the Danish Golf Championship.

Scot Ready To Banish Belfry Demons

Richie Ramsay fell just short of British Masters glory in 2022, losing by one shot after a disastrous double-bogey six at the 72nd hole, but the Scot has the ability to make amends on his return to the Warwickshire venue.

Ramsay, who remains one of the most accurate drivers on the DP World Tour, has had a quiet season but he produced his best performance of the year when third at the Czech Masters a fortnight ago. He is well suited to the Belfry and will view this as a big chance to make a move on the Race to Dubai standings.
