Gambling Zone sat down with the iconic British lightweight fighter to discuss Manchester City taking on Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
What's your prediction for the Champions League final?
We’ve been up there for a number of years now and we’ve been close to winning the Champions League. I’ve fancied us to it for the last two or three years, but we haven’t been able to get it over the line. When I look at this team and compare it the teams from the last few years, which were some unbelievable teams, this is the best side we’ve had. I feel more confident that we can win the Champions League with this group of players.
I didn’t think we would catch Arsenal at one stage, but when we needed to hit the ground running, we did. We found our form and now we’re absolutely flying. It couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re hitting peak form at the business end of the season.
Do you have a message for the City players ahead of the final on Saturday?
A lot of these players lost the final to Chelsea, which must have been heart-breaking for them. They will want to put that right. The message to the players has got to be believe in yourself. You’re more than good enough to win the Champions League. We’re the favourites, but we can’t take that for granted. There isn’t a forgone conclusion that we will win it, we’ve slipped up in the past in the Champions League. The players just need to go out there and do what they’ve been doing all season.
