Chelsea and Arsenal return from the international break to stage what promises to be a thrilling London derby at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal make the short hop across the capital with spirits sky-high after beating Manchester City 1-0 in their last game before the break.
But Chelsea, after a poor start under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, are also finding their feet with a League Cup success against Brighton followed by back-to-back away league wins at Fulham and Burnley.
The Blues are still in the bottom half of the table but they are improving and will be determined to halt the march of Arsenal who, after last season's near-miss, have to believe they are capable of winning the Premier League.
- Arsenal to win
- Over 4.5 Arsenal corners
- Raheem Sterling over 1.5 shots
Gunners Too Strong For Chelsea
As statements of intent go, beating Manchester City 1-0 in front of your own fans was pretty impressive.
City, the only side to finish above Arsenal in last season's Premier League, were made to look average by Mikel Arteta's continually improving Gunners, and victory over Pep Guardiola's champions was the perfect way to head into the international break.
Now, with their unbeaten record to protect and rivals Tottenham for company at the top of the table, Arsenal have to go again, and there is no reason to doubt they can maintain their strong start at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners have played four domestic away games this season and won the lot, and without conceding a single goal to boot.
The break has given Bukayo Saka a chance to get fit and Arteta has such rich pickings to choose from in attack that even if the England ace misses out they are not appreciably weaker.
Arsenal have won on their last three visits to Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea have played four times in the Premier League this term, winning just one – against Luton – and failing to score in each of their last two.
Wins at Fulham and Burnley before the break will have buoyed Pochettino, but he is still missing some key men and looking more and more reliant on Raheem Sterling.
Arteta to overcome Pochettino
Let Arteta's Aces Corner A Profit
Arsenal's win over Manchester City was a cagey, tense affair that defied all predictions of being an open contest.
The stakes were so high and they will be again at Stamford Bridge given the rivalry between these clubs.
However, there were still nine corners piled up by both sides in the Arsenal-City tussle with the Gunners winning five of them.
And that's because when you play with that much width you are going to buy your share of corners, and no side do that quite like Arsenal.
No side win more corners than the north Londoners, who are averaging 8.6 per game. And given that Chelsea concede at almost five per game, you would surely expect the visitors to clear the 4.5 corners mark.
Sterling a threat for Chelsea
Sterling Can Fire Up Chelsea
While Arsenal are taken to come good, Chelsea could have their moments.
Back-to-back league wins have lifted them up the table and in Raheem Sterling, in particular, they have a player who represents a serious threat.
Scorer of three goals this season from out wide, he is also averaging 2.1 shots per game. Sterling is likely to struggle to find much space up against a solid Arsenal defence, but he can fire off at least two shots.
