After the disappointment of conceding a late equaliser in a 3-3 draw at Newcastle United in midweek, Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways when they face rivals Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday (12:30).
With both these teams scrapping for points at the top and lower end of the Premier League table, don’t expect any quarter to be asked or given in “The Friendly Derby” this weekend.

Reds Can Rule The Roost
Having let a couple of points slip through their fingers at St James’ Park on Wednesday night, Arne Slot’s Liverpool will be eager to get back to winning ways at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Newcastle v Liverpool tends to throw up end-to-end classics and the last midweek encounter was no different.
Barring that trip to the home of the Magpies, Liverpool’s defence has been largely excellent this season, still only conceding 11 goals in their first 14 games.
Expect Liverpool to get back to defensive best against an Everton side that have had their struggles in front of goal this season.
Granted the Toffees scored four goals last time out against a more Wolverhampton Wanderers outfit but before that they had failed to find the back of the net in their previous four league games.
Against the best defence in the Premier League, it’s hard to see Everton scoring on Saturday and Liverpool should have enough in the final third to claim the win.

Expect Fast Start From Visitors
Looking to put Everton on the back foot from the off, expect Liverpool to hit the ground running in this one and hold the lead going into the half-time break.
The Reds have tended to make strong starts in the Premier League of late, scoring in the first half in three of their last four games.
With the abundance of attacking talent at their disposal, it would be little surprise to see Liverpool take an early lead and not look back against Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Salah In Red-Hot Form
While speculation continues around his long-term future at Anfield, there is no doubting Mohamed Salah’s contribution to his Liverpool side this term.
The 32-year-old is enjoying an outstanding first season in the post-Jurgen Klopp era, with the Egyptian international scoring 13 Premier League goals in 14 appearances so far.
Having scored seven goals in 11 previous league appearances against Everton in the league, Salah has made a habit of shining in the Merseyside Derby.
Against an Everton defence that conceded four goals against an inconsistent Manchester United last weekend at Old Trafford, expect Liverpool to create plenty of chances on Saturday and for Salah to be at least on the end of one of them.
