The first game of FA Cup fourth-round weekend sees Manchester United host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Friday night.

The Red Devils have beaten the Foxes twice at the famous Manchester venue already this season, in the Premier League and the EFL Cup, with both of those victories coming when Ruud van Nistelrooy was their interim manager.

The former United goal machine will be in the opposing dugout this time around and faces a tough test against his former squad, with United strong favourites to advance to the last 16.

The match kicks off at 20:00 GMT and it could produce an entertaining start to the weekend of cup action.

Cup Offers Amorim A Chance Of Success

Ruben Amorim has had a mixed time since taking over at United following Van Nistelrooy's short stint as interim manager in October and November.

The former Sporting manager made a promising start, but a tough run over Christmas saw United go winless for five games before their FA Cup upset of Arsenal on penalties in the previous round.

Since then they have made generally steady progress, with four wins in six games - all against opponents they would expect to beat - as well as home losses to Brighton and Crystal Palace.

United's home form is a real concern as seven league defeats in 13 games would have been unthinkable in the Alex Ferguson era, but they have at least shown they know how to beat Leicester in front of their own fans.

The Foxes are in real relegation trouble after losing 13 of their last 18 games in all competitions.

The good work of their come-from-behind 2-1 win at Tottenham was quickly undone when they were overwhelmed by relegation rivals Everton in last week's 4-0 away defeat and they have not kept a clean sheet since October.

Van Nistelrooy was able to steer United to two wins over his new team and, despite the extensive knowledge he has of the home squad's strengths and weaknesses, it will be tough for him to mastermind a victory over his former club.

United are a short price to win the game, so boost the potential return by taking the hosts to win a game in which both teams score. The Red Devils have conceded in seven consecutive home games.

Entertaining Affair Looks Likely

The two meetings between these teams this season have produced 10 goals, with United winning 5-2 in the League Cup and 3-0 in the Premier League and, with the tie having to be settled on the night both sides should take a positive approach.

United's last three games against Fulham, FCSB and Palace were low-scoring affairs, but neither team has anything to lose in this situation and we should see a more open contest.

Leicester fired six past Championship side QPR in their third-round tie and, while that was a rare outburst, it showed what they can do when the pressure of a relegation battle is lifted.

Fernandes Can Lead The Way For Hosts

United captain Bruno Fernandes has found the net in his team's two victories over Leicester this season and looks a prime candidate to keep that run going on Friday night.

The Portuguese midfielder scored his team's third and fifth goals in the 5-2 EFL Cup win against the Foxes in late October and opened the scoring with a 17th-minute goal in the league game between the teams two weeks later.

With nine goals in his last 22 appearances, Fernandes looks worth backing to get on the scoresheet against the Foxes for a third time.
