England don't have to wait long to try to put things right after their 2-1 home defeat by Greece in the Nations League on Thursday.

The Three Lions head to Finland on Sunday for a Group B2 game which kicks off in Helsinki at 17:00 BST, with the hosts bottom of the table after losing all three of their games so far.

High-Scoring Contest Looks Likely

There were only two goals when England and Finland met at Wembley in September, but a higher total can be expected when they face each other at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki on Sunday.

England captain Harry Kane marked his 100th cap with both goals in London as Lee Carsley chalked up his second win as England's interim head coach, but Carsley's third game in the hotseat was little short of a disaster.

The Three Lions were sent out in an experimental formation with no recognised central striker and a host of talented attacking midfielders. It proved not to be a tactical masterstroke as England made a catalogue of defensive errors and might have lost by a wider margin as they were regularly exposed at the back.

There is a chance that Kane could be fit to return for this match after missing the Greece game, but if he can't then most likely Ollie Watkins or Dominic Solanke would be expected to spearhead the attack.

Bukayo Saka could miss out after going off with a knock on Thursday but there's still enough creativity in the England side to conjure up plenty of goalscoring chances.

The Finns have conceded seven goals in their three defeats so far, with Greece, England and the Republic of Ireland all scoring at least twice, but they did take the lead against the Irish, with Joel Pohjanpalo putting them ahead in the 17th minute.

They should have a solid chance of contributing to the total if England's defence is as weak as it was on Thursday, when Greece had three goals ruled out by VAR, and a game with three or more goals looks on the cards, whether it comes through England's offensive firepower or defensive mistakes.

Finland Can Give Fans Something To Cheer

Finland lost to nil in their first two Nations League encounters, but that was not typical for them as they had scored in their previous seven matches.

They got back on the scoresheet in their latest game, which was the sixth time in their last eight fixtures that both teams had scored.

Those looking for a bigger return could target a 3-1 England win. While their classy playmakers should be able to carve open the home side, it's 11 games since the Three Lions scored more than twice, so even a 3-1 success would be welcome for Carsley and his team.

Palmer Should Shine For England

Cole Palmer scored England's dramatic equaliser against Spain in the Euro 2024 final and has made a headline-grabbing start to the new Premier League season, scoring all four goals in Chelsea's recent 4-2 win over Brighton.

He linked up well at times with Jude Bellingham in the game against Greece, missing a clear-cut chance after a cut-back from the Real Madrid man, but he is unlikely to be so wasteful if opportunity knocks again in Finland.
