Reds To Keep Pressing On
Liverpool continue to impress under new manager Arne Slot with six victories recorded from seven league matches, the only blemish a surprise 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds have made a perfect start to their Champions League campaign, beating AC Milan and Bologna, while they breezed past West Ham 5-1 in the League Cup.
A big part of this early success is the defensive form of Slot's men, who boast the league's best defence with just two goals conceded from seven fixtures.
However, there has been slight cracks at the back with goals conceded in four of their last seven matches in all competitions and while they will be confident of getting the win on home soil on Sunday, they may not do so with a clean sheet.
Visitors Chelsea have been making positive strides under Enzo Maresca and his side have been particularly efficient in the final third, netting 28 times in all competitions.
England international Cole Palmer has been a major player for them again, netting six times in the league to lead his club's scoring charts, while there has been sufficient support from Noni Madueke (4) and Nicolas Jackson (4).
But while the Blues have been thriving in attack, they haven't got it right at the back and have conceded five goals in their last three outings in all competitions.
Chelsea are also short of options in defence for this contest with Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana both suspended, leaving Maresca with some selection headaches.
Renato Veiga could be brought in at left-back, but there would be a lot of pressure on the 21-year-old's shoulders and the Reds would likely target him should he be handed a start.
It promises to be an enthralling battle between these two title candidates, but Liverpool may just have the extra edge with a vociferous Anfield support behind them and they can get the three points.

Salah To Test The Goalkeeper
Egypt international Mohamed Salah is having another impressive season with Liverpool, netting four times from seven league games to sit joint-second in his club's charts.
The 32-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down and his performances are also giving the board a reminder of his capabilities, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025.
Salah has been getting off plenty of shots, attempting no less than 22, but he has rarely wasted his opportunities with 15 of these ending on target.
With plenty of chances expected on Merseyside, Salah looks more than capable of forcing the goalkeeper into at least one save.
