Northern Ireland are favourites for a home win over Kazakhstan in Euro 2024 qualifying on Monday (19:45 KO) but the visitors to Belfast have already upset the odds during this campaign.
- Kazakhstan or draw
- No goalscorer
- A red card in the match
Northern Ireland May Struggle
Northern Ireland have won only two of their last ten internationals, beating Kosovo with a late goal in the Nations League and seeing off San Marino in Euro 2024 qualifying.
That suggests the home favourites are worth opposing when Kazakhstan visit Windsor Park on Monday as the Kazakhs came from 2-0 down to shock Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark 3-2 in one of their March qualifiers.
They eased to a 3-0 win away to San Marino last time out and can avoid defeat against a Northern Ireland side short of attacking firepower.
Belfast Contest Could End A Stalemate
Kazakhstan have scored six goals in their last two qualifiers against San Marino and Denmark but they may be more cagey on Monday as an away draw would be a decent result.
No goalscorer, or the 0-0 correct score, merits a small bet as Northern Ireland's internationals tend to be low-scoring affairs. They lost 1-0 in their last two Group H games against Finland and the Danes, and are missing several senior players due to injury.
Kazakh Disciplinary Record Points To Red Card
Monday's game should be fiercely contested so backing a red card to be shown could prove profitable.
Kazakhstan had a player sent off in March's win over Denmark and last November's friendly against Qatar while there was also a red card in each of their last three 2022/23 Nations League matches against Slovakia, Belarus and Azerbaijan. Northern Ireland picked up four bookings against the Danes on Friday.
