Bet On The Premier League

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa

Two of the top-six in the Premier League meet at the City Ground, as Nottingham Forest look to keep their noses in front of Aston Villa.

Nuno Espirito Santos’ men made a great start to the season, with just one defeat in their opening nine games, which included a win at leaders Liverpool.

Back-to-back defeats to Newcastle and Arsenal threatened to see Forest slip down the table, but their response has been good.

Two wins in their last three matches have seen Forest move back up to fifth and now they go in search of a fourth home league victory of the season.

They face an Aston Villa team that have had their struggles on the road in recent weeks, with Unai Emery’s squad losing at Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Villa head to Nottingham off the back of a 3-2 success in Europe at RB Leipzig on Tuesday, which is likely to have taken a lot out of their camp.

Emery’s men lost this fixture 2-0 last season and look like they could be facing another tough time down by the Trent.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST TO WIN

Arsenal vs Everton

It’s now seven games without defeat for Arsenal, who look a different team with Martin Odegaard back to full fitness.

The Norwegian midfielder has proven what a key figure he is for the Gunners, who are doing all they can to remain on the coat-tails of the leaders, Liverpool.

Last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Fulham will have been frustrating for Mikel Arteta, but Arsenal showed they are still on track with a comfortable 3-0 win over Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Everton head to the Emirates some 15 points behind their opponents and have lost on their last three visits to Arsenal.

Goals continue to be a problem for Sean Dyche’s men, who have failed to score in their last three away matches.

Everton have also struggled to find the net at the Emirates in recent seasons, bagging just once in their last three visits, and it could be a similar story this time around.

ARSENAL TO WIN TO NIL

Liverpool vs Fulham

Liverpool’s impressive season continued in midweek with a 1-0 away victory over Girona and going into Saturday’s home clash with Fulham, the Reds sit top of both the Premier League and Champions League.

It’s now just one defeat in 22 competitive matches as Liverpool prepare for five matches in all competitions before the turn of the year.

Arne Slot will be without Alexis Mac Allister, with the World Cup winner serving a one-game suspension after collecting his fifth yellow in the 3-3 draw at Newcastle.

Fulham also have some key absences, with Joachim Anderson missing through injury while Calvin Bassey and Tom Cairney are banned.

The Cottagers damaged Arsenal’s title hopes with a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage last weekend and have taken points off Tottenham and Brighton in recent weeks.

Liverpool have the attacking options to break down Marco Silva’s team and Cody Gakpo might be handed a start after being named on the bench against Girona.

The Dutchman scored the winner in the League Cup semi-final first leg between the two sides last season and has grabbed two goals in the last four games.

CODY GAKPO TO SCORE AT ANYTIME

Newcastle vs Ipswich

It’s no wins in four for Newcastle and the pressure looks to be building on Eddie Howe, with the Magpies slipping into the bottom half of the table.

In contrast, Leicester have moved five points clear of the relegation zone after collecting four points from their first two matches under new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.

A 3-1 win over West Ham was followed by a point at home to Brighton, coming back from 2-0 down thanks to two goals in the last four minutes.

Their form away from the King Power Stadium doesn’t make good reading for Foxes fans, though, with no wins in their last four games on the road.

Five goals in their last two fixtures highligh Van Nistelrooy’s desire to play attacking football but the absence of both Wilfried Ndidi and Harry Winks limits their options in midfield.

Newcastle have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight league games, but have found the net eight times in their last three fixtures.

OVER 3.5 GOALS

Wolves vs Ipswich

Two teams stuck in the relegation fight meet at Molineux, with both Wolves and Ipswich sat on nine points after 15 games.

Monday’s defeat at West Ham placed further question marks over the future of Wanderers boss Gary O’Neil, with Wolves losing three consecutive matches.

Saturday’s opponents have also lost three on the spin, with Ipswich scoring just one goal during that run.

Two goals in the last three minutes saw Kieran McKenna’s side fall to a heart-breaking home defeat to Bournemouth last weekend.

A win for either won’t move them out of the relegation zone, but this looks like a massive game for both teams and their hopes of staying up.

Both teams scored in their last meeting, in 2023, with Ipswich winning 3-2 at Portman Road, having been 2-0 down, in an EFL Cup tie.
