Bet On The Premier League

Leicester vs Man City

Boxing Day’s draw with Everton means it is now one win in 13 in all competitions for Man City, with the champions sliding to seventh in the table.

Pep Guardiola now takes his men to Leicester to face a Foxes team that have failed to win any of their last four matches.

Ruud van Nistelrooy collected four points from his first two matches in charge, but three consecutive defeats have now dropped the Midlands outfit into the bottom three.

The second halves of recent Leicester games have brought the majority of the entertainment and it could be a similar story on Sunday.

There have been 19 goals in the Foxes’ last five matches and 11 of those have come after the break, while eight of the last 14 goals in City’s last five games have been scored in the second half.

DRAW/MAN CITY HT/FT

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

Southampton’s hopes of Premier League survival look to be quickly disappearing, with the Saints now nine points from safety.

One win in their opening 18 games has left the south-coast club rooted to the bottom of the table, with Ivan Juric recently given the task of trying to turn things around.

The Croatian has started by trying to make Saints more difficult to beat, conceding just one goal in his opening two games.

Palace are definitely improving after a poor start to the season, but they have averaged just one goal a game so far and this looks likely to be a low scoring affair.

UNDER 2.5 GOALS

Everton vs Nottingham Forest

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest go into Sunday’s clash unbeaten in four games, but it’s the visitors who are flying high in the standings.

Nuno Espirito Santos’ men are into the top three after a maximum 12 points from their most recent four matches – including a 1-0 success over Tottenham on Boxing Day.

Everton have conceded just one goal in their last four fixtures and are now three points clear of the drop-zone, with a game in hand over their rivals.

The Toffees’ backline has proven difficult to break down and Forest will need Morgan Gibbs-White at his best, if they are to collect another three points.

The England man has got more of a free role behind Chris Wood under Nuno and, as he showed against Spurs, has the ability to unlock any defence.

MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE TO SCORE OR ASSIST

Fulham vs Bournemouth

An historic win over West London rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day has seen Fulham move up to eighth in the table, ahead of Sunday’s home clash with Bournemouth.

This is a tough one to call, with both teams unbeaten in their last five, but it does look likely to supply goals.

There have been 13 scored in Fulham’s last four matches against teams in the top half, while the Cherries have scored nine times in their last three away games – winning at Wolves, Ipswich and Man Utd.

It’s also worth noting that both teams have scored in five of their last six meetings, including a 3-1 win for Fulham in this fixture last season.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Tottenham vs Wolves

Ange Postecoglou is now the bookmakers’ favourite to become the next Premier League manager to be sacked, with Spurs slipping into the bottom half.

It’s now four defeats in their last five league matches for the Lilywhites and there have been no home comforts either of late, with no league win in four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

They have conceded 13 goals during that four-game home run and now look to be facing Wolves at the worst possible time.

Back-to-back wins under Vitor Pereira have moved Wanderers out of the relegation zone and on Sunday they head to a ground where they won 2-1 last season.

Their main man – Matheus Cunha – has scored in both of those wins, over Leicester and Man Utd, and looks set to give Spurs’ makeshift defence a torrid time.

MATHEUS CUNHA TO SCORE ANYTIME

West Ham vs Liverpool

A comeback win over Leicester on Thursday saw Liverpool extend their lead at the top to seven points, ahead of their trip to West Ham.

Arne Slot’s squad are now unbeaten in 13 in the league and will be the team to beat going into the New Year, as the club seek a 20th title.

The Reds will head to the capital without the suspended Dominic Szoboszlai, but their opponents are also missing key players.

Lukasz Fabianski has joined Michail Antonio on the injury list, while the Hammers will be without suspended pair Tomas Soucek and Guido Rodriguez.

Liverpool have scored in all 13 away games they have played this season, while West Ham have only failed to score twice at the London Stadium this term.

It’s also worth noting that there have been 23 goals scored in their last five competitive meetings, which include a 5-1 win for Liverpool in the EFL Cup tie at Anfield in September.
