Premier League Betting Tips - Matchday 28, Saturday

There are five Premier League matches scheduled to take place on Saturday and title challengers Arsenal can end the day top of the standings if they beat Brentford in the evening kick-off.

The in-form Gunners will be looking to take advantage of the two teams currently above them in the table, Liverpool and Manchester City, facing off on Sunday and they will bring the curtain down on what promises to be another busy Saturday of top-flight action.

Kicking the weekend off will be the 12:30 match at Old Trafford where Manchester United will be aiming to get their top-four hopes back on track against struggling Everton.

There are also three matches scheduled at 3pm, including what could prove to be a tense battle at Selhurst Park when struggling Luton visit a Crystal Palace side whose own relegation concerns have not fully disappeared.

  • Manchester United to beat Everton & BTTS
  • Bournemouth to beat Sheffield United & over 2.5 goals in the match
  • Over 3.5 goals in Crystal Palace vs Luton
  • Draw in Wolves vs Fulham
  • Arsenal to beat Brentford & over 2.5 goals in the match

 Manchester United vs Everton

After suffering back-to-back league defeats to Fulham and Manchester City, Manchester United will hope to return to winning ways when they host an out-of-sorts Everton.

United have won seven of their 10 matches in all competitions since the turn of the year and while their performances haven't always been of the highest standard, that does show they have the ability to grind out results.

Erik ten Hag's side will certainly expect to get the better of Everton, as they have won the last four meetings between the two sides, while the relegation-threatened Toffees are without a league victory of any sort since mid-December.

Sean Dyche has at least seen his side find the back of the net in four of their last five and the visitors can trouble the scoresheet again on Saturday, but the points should stay with United.

MAN UNITED TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United

A tough season has reached new lows for Sheffield United over recent weeks, with Monday's 6-0 defeat to Arsenal marking the fourth home match in a row where they have conceded five or more goals.

Things have not been going much better for the Blades on their travels and they will head to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth with the division's worst away record and having conceded an eye-watering total of 72 goals since returning to the top flight in the Summer.

Mid-table Bournemouth brought their own recent dip in form to an end with last weekend's victory at another struggling side in Burnley and, after winning the reverse meeting with Sheff Utd 3-1 at Bramall Lane in November, they will head into this game with renewed confidence.

The Cherries are certainly capable of matching the three goals they registered in South Yorkshire and backing the home win and over 2.5 goals in the south Coast clash could be the sensible play.

BOURNEMOUTH TO WIN AND OVER 2.5 GOALS

Crystal Palace vs Luton

Oliver Glasner was named as Crystal Palace's new manager to not only pull them clear of any relegation danger, but to also introduce a more exciting brand of football.

It is still early in his tenure but the Austrian appears to be ticking both of those boxes after Palace followed up a 3-0 success over Burnley in his first match in charge with a spirited display when going down 3-1 at Tottenham.

Next up is a home clash with a Luton side that have lost five matches on the spin across all competitions, but they did beat Palace earlier in the season and have also scored as many top-flight goals this term as Manchester United.

Six of Luton's last seven games have featured four goals or more and, with Palace wanting to play a more expansive style of football under Glasner, that trend could continue at Selhurst Park.

OVER 3.5 GOALS

Wolves vs Fulham

Two evenly matched sides will lock horns at Molineux and there could be a feel-good atmosphere in the air given Wolves and Fulham are both exceeding expectations this season.

Wolves sit 10th after seeing their recent three-match winning streak ended at Newcastle last weekend, while back-to-back notable victories over Manchester United and Brighton have lifted Fulham up to 12th, just three points behind their hosts on Saturday.

Fulham won the reverse meeting between the two sides 3-2 in November, but they needed a 94th-minute penalty from Willian to take the points that day, while both meetings last season ended all-square.

This feels like a match between two solid teams that are hard to separate and it would be no surprise to see them play out another stalemate at Molineux.

WOLVES AND FULHAM TO DRAW

Arsenal vs Brentford

The incentive is there for Arsenal when they welcome Brentford to the Emirates Stadium, as a win will take them top of the standings on a temporary basis at least.

Winning has certainly been a happy knack for the Gunners of late, as they have triumphed in seven top-flight games on the spin, scoring a sensational 31 goals in the process.

That trend can continue against a Brentford side battling at the wrong end of the table after a run of 12 defeats from their last 16 league games, while the Bees conceded four in their most recent away fixture, a 4-2 reverse at West Ham.

Given the form of these two sides, this match appears to be heading in only one direction - an Arsenal win - and Mikel Arteta will be hopeful his team can make it another comprehensive success.

At least three goals have been scored in all seven of Arsenal's league wins since the turn of the year, while eight of Brentford's last 10 games in the top flight have yielded four goals or more. A high-scoring home success would appear to be the order of the day.
