Following the international break, we return to Premier League action this weekend with some intriguing round four fixtures to look forward to.

There are no fewer than eight top-flight matches on Saturday, with the top three teams amongst those in action on the 14th September.

Here are our five selections to consider this weekend, which includes the matches involving Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea.

  • SUNDERLAND VS MAN UNITED - OVER 2.5 GOALS
  • BRIGHTON VS IPSWICH - BRIGHTON TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
  • LIVERPOOL VS NOTTINGHAM FOREST - DIOGO JOTA TO SCORE ANYTIME
  • ASTON VILLA VS EVERTON - DRAW HT / ASTON VILLA FT
  • BOURNEMOUTH VS CHELSEA - CHELSEA TO WIN

Southampton vs Man Utd

Saturday’s early kick-off sees two clubs that have endured frustrating starts to the season meet, with both Southampton and Manchester United stuck in the bottom half.

The Saints are yet to collect a point since their return to the top-flight and their home form is going to be important if they are to stand any chance of staying up.

United head to St Mary’s following back-to-back defeats, but will feel Southampton’s open style will give them a chance of returning to winning ways.

It’s worth noting that there have been two or more goals in the Red Devils’ last 12 Premier League away games, while Southampton have already conceded eight goals in four matches in all competitions this season.

OVER 2.5 GOALS

Brighton vs Ipswich

It’s third versus 17th at the Amex Stadium, as Brighton look to extend their unbeaten league run to four matches against Ipswich.

Fabien Hurzeler’s men have already beaten Everton and Man Utd, which was followed by a draw at Arsenal prior to the recent break.

After a particularly tough start to the season, with fixtures against Liverpool and Man City, Ipswich collected their first point at home to Fulham.

Nobody scored more goals than the Tractor Boys in the Championship last season and they will feel they can find the net at Brighton, but the Seagulls should have too much for their opponents.

BRIGHTON TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Bet On The Premier League

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest

Not many could have predicted the start Liverpool have made under new boss Arne Slot, with the Reds currently sat in second with a 100% record.

An impressive victory at Man Utd last time out gave a glimpse of how well the Reds’ squad have taken to their new Dutch manager.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool did the double over Nottingham Forest last season, including a 3-0 success in this fixture.

The Merseysiders have scored six times in the last two meetings with Forest at Anfield and Diogo Jota has contributed three of those goals.

The Portuguese ace has already opened his account for the season and he is expected to start through the middle again.

 DIOGO JOTA TO SCORE ANYTIME

Aston Villa vs Everton

There have been contrasting fortunes so far this season for these two Premier League stalwarts, with Villa sat in seventh and Everton currently rock bottom.

The Toffees are pointless following their first three games, which includes a nightmare 3-2 injury-time home loss to Bournemouth last time out.

Sean Dyche will have been working since then on trying to hatch a plan to upset the odds at Villa Park.

A lack of goals is again a concern for Everton and they will have to try and keep Unai Emery’s men at arms-length for as long as possible.

There have been eight goals in Villa’s three matches to date, with five of those coming in the second half.

DRAW HT / ASTON VILLA FT

Bournemouth vs Chelsea

Bournemouth currently sit three places and one point above Chelsea in the league standings ahead of their clash at the Vitality Stadium.

Andoni Iraola has seen his team collect five points from three games, but they were second best at Everton for 80 minutes.

The Cherries have won just one of their last four Premier League home games and have not beaten Chelsea in their last five Premier League meetings.

With so many changes of personnel this summer, it's clear consistency is going to take time for Chelsea, highlighted by their results so far.

A win, a draw and a defeat leaves more questions than answers for head coach Enzo Maresca, but playing away looks better suited to the Blues style, for now.
