Spain vs Germany Betting Tips - Euro 2024 Quarterfinal

For many, these have been the two standout performers at Euro 2024 and coming through this quarter-final would stand them in good stead for their trophy pursuit.

Hosts Germany recorded wins over Scotland and Hungary in Group A before closing out with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland, which sealed their place as group winners.

Denmark were unable to land a glove on the Germans in a 2-0 loss in the round of 16, but much tougher tests await, starting with this last-eight battle with a rampant Spain.

La Roja won all three games in Group B against Italy, Croatia and Albania and they didn’t concede a single goal while they blew Georgia away in the last 16, winning 4-1 in a contest that could have easily been more.

Spain Hold The Aces

Often criticised for a lack of conviction, Spain appear to have scoring options all over the field with their opening four games resulting in four victories and nine goals scored

Spain have been a pleasure to watch under Luis de la Fuente and the unearthing of wingers Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal has offered a different dimension to their attack, with both impressing in what is their maiden major tournament.

They are going to cause plenty of problems for Germany’s full-backs and it will be hard for the hosts to dictate the midfield area like they have been against the likes of Rodri and Fabian Ruiz.

Spain have lost only one of their last 16 internationals, winning 13 of those matches in regulation time, and they make more appeal at the prices than the Germans.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side ran riot on the opening night in a 5-1 success over Scotland, but Hungary, Switzerland and Denmark have all had their moments and their performances are in danger of dipping off.

Germany needed the help of a couple of VAR calls against the Danes, but they may not be so fortunate against Spain, who have lost only one of the last eight meetings between the pair.

Morata May Collect Another Card

Accumulated yellow cards are reset after the quarter-finals so Spain striker Alvaro Morata, having been booked in the 4-1 win over Georgia, may be a good bet to pick up another booking.

Spain have committed 57 fouls across their four games, collecting six yellow cards, and Morata has made seven of those in 230 minutes of action.

Three of those were committed against Georgia and the 31-year-old is going to be doing a lot of chasing and closing down, so may struggle to escape the referee’s attention with his characteristic late challenges.

Yamal Ready To Make His Mark

Yamal still awaits his first goal at Euro 2024 but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t impressed, with the 16-year-old sensation terrifying defences and getting two assists.

Barcelona’s teenage sensation is certainly knocking on the door, however, and he has had 11 attempts at this European Championships, which includes seven against Georgia.

Germany are still not settled on a left-back, as they deliberate between Maximilian Mittelstadt and David Raum, but neither will want to come up against this entertaining youngster and he may be able to get off the mark.
