To kickstart our Stadium Report, we have scoured a series of review sites to determine which sporting stadiums have the best average rating overall. Using a combination of review ratings and Google search data, we can reveal the most favoured sporting stadiums in the world.

1) Lambeau Field - 8.73 /10
With an overall score of 8.73 /10, Lambeau Field finishes at the top of our table regarding the highest-rated stadiums. This ground is home to the NFL's Green Bay Packers, who, just like this stadium, have had their fair share of success over the years. Lambeau Field sees visitors from all over the world every year, and they agree that this is a top-quality stadium, evidenced by a 5-star average rating on TripAdvisor.
2) Twickenham Stadium - 7.68 /10
Known by many as the 'home of England rugby', Twickenham Stadium finds itself in the world's second spot on our list of the highest-rated stadiums. With an overall score of 7.68 /10, Twickenham Stadium consistently scores well across every factor. Among the most impressive stats is the average rating of 4.6 out of five across over 16,000 Google reviews.
3) Bryant-Denny Stadium - 7.50 /10
Next up on our list is the Bryant-Denny Stadium, home to the University of Alabama's football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite having the fewest number of Google searches of all the entries in our top five, this stadium has an overall score of 7.5 /10, the third-highest of any stadium on our list.
4) Kyle Field - 7.24 /10
The third US-based sporting stadium on our top five list is Kyle Field, with an overall score of 7.24 /10. This stadium has a capacity of over 102,000, the biggest of all the stadiums in our top five, and this makes it all the more impressive that this field has accumulated such outstanding ratings across the board.
5) Signal Iduna Park - 5.88 /10
Completing our top five is Signal Iduna Park. Home to the German football team Borussia Dortmund, this stadium is renowned for its impressive atmosphere, which is why it has shared hosting duties for games in previous FIFA World Cup tournaments. Of the factors contributing to this stadium's position on our ranking, it is worth noting that 'Signal Iduna Park' has been Googled more than 1,500,000 times in the last year.

1) Legion Field - 0.27 /10
Scoring just 0.27 /10 is Legion Field stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. While Legion Field’s overall score is the lowest of any stadium on our list, the average ratings across the board are mediocre, including 3 /5 on TripAdvisor and 2.9 /5 on Yelp. Of the lower-rated reviews on these sites, people appear unimpressed with the stadium’s parking facilities and lack of seat shelter, which is problematic on rainy days.
2) Spartan Stadium - 0.53 /10
With a score of 0.53 /10, the Spartan Stadium is the second-lowest rated stadium on our list. This stadium can hold over 75,000 people at once, but despite its high attendance, the number of Google searches is among the lowest of all entries. Having said this, what Spartan Stadium lacks in Google searches certainly makes up for in review ratings, evidenced by the 4.5 /5 average TripAdvisor rating.
3) Cotton Bowl - 0.84 /10
From American Football to music concerts, Cotton Bowl has hosted a range of events over the years - this variation is likely why this stadium has racked up over 185,000 Google searches in the past year. Some other contributing factors to Cotton Bowl’s 0.84 /10 overall rating are the 2.7 and 3.5 rating out of five on Yelp and TripAdvisor, respectively.
4) Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum - 1.28 /10
Up next, with a score of 1.28 /10, is the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. There is a lot of variation across review sites, with this stadium’s average Yelp rating standing at 3.2 /5 and its Google review rating averaging 4.5 /5. Despite inconsistencies in visitor ratings, this stadium has a rich history in sports, and it is set to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
5) Cleveland Browns Stadium - 1.58 /10
Cleveland Browns Stadium completes this all-American lineup with an overall score of 1.58 /10. As the name suggests, this stadium is home to the Cleveland Browns, who compete in the NFL. This stadium has seen many winning games over the years, but, unfortunately, it is not winning any awards for its Yelp ratings, averaging 3.5 /5.
The SoFi Stadium Is The Most Googled With 7.2 Million+ Searches This Year
Whether you are looking for good or bad news, Google is often our first port of call. Because of this, we wanted to find out which sporting stadiums have piqued people’s interest the most over the last year.
Most Googled Stadiums Annually
1) SoFi Stadium - 7,221,000 Google Searches
With a capacity of around 70,000 people, the SoFi Stadium may not be breaking any attendance records. Still, it is the most searched-for stadium globally, racking up over 7.2 million Google searches in the last year. Of the most popular events in recent years, it is worth noting that the SoFi Stadium hosted the Super Bowl LVI in 2022, which over 100 million tuned in to witness.
2) Wembley Stadium - 5,917,000 Google Searches
Wembley Stadium is next on our list, with over 5.9 million Google searches over the last year. Boasting around 90,000 seats, Wembley is the biggest stadium in the United Kingdom and has hosted many memorable events over the years. While this stadium is best known for its football events, you can find all kinds of sports here, including NFL, rugby, and wrestling, to name a few.
3) Stade de France - 4,603,000 Google Searches
Stade de France hosts a range of significant sporting events, with the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympic Games, to name a few. Considering this, it is unsurprising that the Stade de France is in our top three most-searched sporting stadiums of the last year.
Methodology
We used Wikipedia to compile a list of every stadium in the world with a capacity of > 70,000. We removed any stadiums located in Russia and Ukraine.
We used TripAdvisor to find each stadium's average rating out of five.
We used Yelp to find the average rating of each stadium out of five.
We used Google to find the average Google review rating out of five of each stadium.
Data was collected on 29/09/2023, and any stadiums with less than five reviews were removed from the list.
We used Google Ads Keyword Planner to find the total number of Google searches for each stadium between September 2022 and August 2023 (data was collected on 02/10/2023).
Finally, we used the review-related factors (TripAdvisor, Yelp, Google Reviews, and Google search data) and normalised each element out of 10 before taking an average of those scores to get our overall 'stadium score'.
