Manchester City have a notoriously poor record against Spurs, with Pep Guardiola's side still to score a Premier League goal in four visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They were even held 3-3 at home by Ange Postecoglou's side in December but perhaps broke their hoodoo with January's 1-0 FA Cup win in north London and their current form suggests they will have no issues on Tuesday.
Guardiola's visitors have won their last seven Premier League games, netting four or more in six of those and a victory over Spurs will take them back above Arsenal ahead of Sunday's final round of games.
Tottenham were previously battling for a top-four finish and, while they beat Burnley 2-1 on Saturday, that came after four straight defeats and it looks unlikely that, even with their peculiarly strong home record against the Citizens, they will be able to stop the reigning champions.
- Manchester City to win and over 3.5 goals
- Phil Foden anytime goalscorer
- James Maddison to be booked
City To Make Spurs Pay
The title race is in City's hands. Arsenal returned to the top of the standings with Sunday's 1-0 win at Manchester United, a day after Guardiola's men had replaced the Gunners by winning 4-0 at Fulham.
Tuesday's meeting is a game in hand for the visitors and promises to be the key match in deciding the Premier League trophy's destination.
Spurs' win over Burnley was timely as they look to hold off Newcastle and Chelsea in the battle for fifth, but they were again ragged without the ball and injuries have exposed their lack of depth.
By contrast, City were ruthlessly efficient at the Cottage and their recent scoring exploits hint that they could tear Tottenham apart.
MANCHESTER CITY TO WIN AND OVER 3.5 GOALS
Got To Fancy Foden
Odds-on to be named player of the year, Phil Foden keeps getting better and netted his 25th goal of the season at Fulham.
The Mancunian's talent has never been doubted, but at 23, he has discovered a fresh maturity, adding additional control to his flair.
Foden has now scored in his team's last three away games - in the 3-3 draw at Real Madrid, bagging a brace in the 4-0 win at Brighton and scoring again at Craven Cottage.
Whether by accident or design, Spurs are sure to give him space and after getting on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture, the playmaker can punish his opponents again.
Maddison Worth Noting In Card Markets
James Maddison proved an immediate hit after joining Spurs from Leicester but has struggled to rediscover his form since returning from the ankle injury that sidelined him between the start of November and the end of January.
Maddison returned against the Citizens in January's 1-0 FA Cup defeat but has scored just once in 17 appearances since coming back into the side.
The 27-year-old has even spent time on the bench and has appeared increasingly irritable at his and his sides' forms.
Maddison was booked against Burnley, while he also received a caution in April's 4-0 loss at Newcastle.
The playmaker can struggle when teams turn the ball over quickly, as both the Magpies and Clarets aim to do. City are known for their precision but also break with urgency and Maddison may need to bring a man down if he finds himself on the wrong side of the ball.
