Citizens To Punish Leaky Wolves

Six defeats and one draw has left Wolves bottom of the Premier League after the opening seven matches and the last thing Gary O'Neil needs is a visit from defending champions Manchester City.

Wolves have had a treacherous fixture list, having played Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Liverpool already, but there were huge concerns in the 5-3 at Brentford before the international break.

Defence has been a massive problem for the Black Country outfit and they have the worst goals against record in the division, conceding 21 times at an average of three per game.

Wolves have lost seven of their last eight fixtures at home in the league, losing the last four, with their only success during that run a 2-1 triumph over relegated Luton Town.

All of this spells trouble for the hosts ahead of the visit of City, who are unbeaten in all competitions and have not lost in their last 14 away matches in the league (W12 D2).

A win for Pep Guardiola' side looks likely, but to offer more value to the selection, it should be coupled with over 3.5 total match goals.

There have been four or more goals in four of City's seven league games and in three of Wolves' top-flight assignments, while the last meeting between these two in May ended in a 5-1 victory for the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium.

Wolves have failed to score in just one league outing this term and they can play their part in an entertaining spectacle, albeit it will likely be in a losing cause.

MAN CITY TO WIN AND OVER 3.5 GOALS

Ait-Nouri A Card Candidate

City should have plenty of possession at Molineux and that will put a strain on a Wolves defence that have already shown massive vulnerabilities this season.

It could be a long afternoon for the hosts and one player that may find himself in the book is Rayan Ait-Nouri, who could have speedster Jeremy Doku running at him.

The Algeria international has already picked up three yellows in the league, a joint-high for his club, while his foul count of 12 is second to only Joao Gomes.

It would be no surprise to see Ait-Nouri end up in the referee’s notebook given the amount of defending he will be expected to do.
