The World Series of Darts Finals get underway on Friday, September 13 (18:15) for three days of cracking action.

There are 32 top-level arrowsmiths heading to Amsterdam to do battle for an £80,000 first prize with Michael van Gerwen looking to defend the title he won last year.

  • ROB CROSS TO WIN WORLD SERIES (EACH-WAY)
  • CAMERON MENZIES TO BEAT GERWYN PRICE

Chizzy Can Leave Rivals Dizzy

Dave Chisnall arrives at the World Series Finals in top form after taking down the Flanders Darts Trophy last week and HE looks set for a big run in Amsterdam.

The St Helens arrowsmith beat James Wade, Gabriel Clemens, Peter Wright, Chris Dobey and Ricardo Pietreczko on his way to Flanders glory and the level of performance was seriously impressive.

Chizzy averaged over 100 in three of those matches and 95.23 was the lowest number he put up in the entire tournament.

That made it two European Tour victories this term for the 43-year-old, and while big TV tournament victories haven’t been as frequent as Chisnall would like, there is enough in the price and draw to suggest he can triumph this week.

Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen are all housed in the top half of the draw and that could leave the path clear for Chisnall to make progress in the opposite section.

Voltage Can Power Past Opposition

Rob Cross is also housed in the bottom half of the draw and he looks a nice each-way play in Amsterdam.

Cross remains a top-level performer and he ranks inside the world’s top 15 on the Pro Tour averages this season.

Voltage won the US Darts Masters on the European Tour this season, while he also made the final of both the Nordic and Polish Darts Masters.

A first-round tie against Simon Whitlock looks very winnable and there isn’t much to fear from a potential second-round contest against either Keane Barry or Kevin Doets.

Cross looks capable of making ground in the bottom half of the draw and he rates another nice each-way play in Amsterdam.

Price Right To Chance Cammy

Cameron Menzies’s record in the last six Players Championship events make for impressive reading, with a semi-final run followed by a last-16 exit and back-to-back quarter-finals.

He then reached the last-four stage again before falling at the final hurdle in his last Players event, evidence that the Scot is playing the best darts of his career.

That certainly isn’t something that can be said about Gerwyn Price, who doesn’t seem altogether happy in the world of darts at the moment.

Menzies has to deliver on the big stage, but there is enough in the price to chance Cammy upsetting the Iceman in Amsterdam.
